Of course, things do change. If you look at the 1976 presidential electoral map and the 2000, it had flipped. Half the states changed. In 1976 The Republicans carried the west coast, Michigan, Illinois, Vermont, NH and Maine, but only Virginia in the south. The low population Rocky Mountain states and Indiana are about the only states that stayed Republican and Minnesota, Massachusetts and Maryland the only states staying Democratic. New York did also, but it was a close state in the 70s.

Now states like Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa are strongly trending Republican. Michigan and Pennsylvania after a long period of leaning blue are turning purple. Things change.

So funny. Yup liberals are stupid and poor. Then how come they pretty much run the show and have all the money?
I'd hate to think what you think of the losers who don't run the majority of leadership positions in public and private and corporate america. They must be really really stupid and really really poor.

Hi neighbor! I know what state you're talking about...and yes...besides that, we have always given more in fed money than we have EVER gotten back. We give to those Welfare red states. For now.

People like to rag on CA but we have money, tech and agriculture which we supply to a huge portion of the U.S.

For now.

I would LOVE to lose some dead weight.

I was watching a few history documentaries last week and the point was made that essentially we have had two civil wars. When we had the revolutionary war, it was, in a real sense... a cvil war. We were British Citizens and many people in the states wanted to stay British Citizens.

Then, we had our "second" civil war which, I think, was a mistake to try to keep the country together. As we can now see. But the information on the civil war was that, as much as it was about slavery, it as about "states rights" which we now see raring its head again.

My preference is that we just stop babying the liberals and eliminate them and keep the USA as it is... but I am starting to think we can't do that... anymore.

My concern is that we would spilt the country apart but just like this country, the conservatives would slowly let things go and progressives would just try to get hold of the USA II... and we would end up in the same situation.

Probably the best thing to do is for conservatives to man up and accept they have to take a more active role in keeping the country on the streight and narrow. They can't just "live their lives".
Optimally, there would be a "balkanization" of some sort. It's very unlikely though, at least at this point. It would end up being a very violent and bloody thing, IMO, because the leftists aren't going to let the milk cow go without a fight. And most on the other side don't have it in them to put up that fight.

There is also the idea of a "parallel society" that has been thrown around a lot lately. An insular, closed society within the larger society. Think of it as a "gated community" within a larger city. This parallel society has it's own commerce, its own leadership, it's own school system, etc. Land ownership would have to be similar to "covenants" agreed to upon purchase of the property (that's not so uncommon right now, but would be more along the lines of philosophy and lifestyle). There are lots of ideas floating around on the specifics and I don't think it would be easy to set up such communities. But... at least it is something. At least it's an idea and shows that some people out there are trying to think of solutions.

I've read quite a lot on the early European colonies here in the US. Most of them were very similar to this. They had their belief system and they stuck to it. Anyone not wishing to be a part of it was simply asked to leave (I'm not talking about the real crazies like the Salem witch hunt folks). So today's equivalent would be, "So you want to be a degenerate, tyrannical leftist? Feel free. Just not here in our community. Adios. Go start your own community."

There is an "agricultural coop" forming way out in the desert in my area (but with available well water). Years ago it was a huge alfalfa farm and very, very isolated--like miles and miles down dirt roads isolated. It is not a political or religious thing, but more along the lines of a community of "back to the land" prepper types who want to be as little dependent on our system/society as possible. I've been watching their website and any news with great interest. I'm not part of it, but I would love to see it succeed. That may open the door for other such groups.

So we are agreed. When can we expect your toxic state to break away?

If that is who you are modeling yourself after, I don't even know what to say. I am absolutely shocked at what is coming out about his behavior after he lost the election. shocked. I think it had gotten worse, no one goes through life acting like that.

Democracy works until it doesnt. The problem is that it seems like nobody wants laws to apply to them. Just the team or race or demographic i don't like. It's hypocrisy at its finest. If the south was cut off from northern money they would suffer. If the north was cut off from southern agriculture they would suffer. Free labor is NOT going to come back. That's a pipe dream. So how will the south survive? Brown labor. But it will come at a price. Just like it did the first go round. Your right wing utopia is just that. Closest you can get to it is Missispi and Alabama.

What a victory for the world's greatest propaganda ministry, when the sheeple actually will consider being DIVIDED AND CONQUERED as a viable remedy.

HUZZAH!

Of course, few Americans know of the promised republican form of government, wherein all men are created equal and have Creator endowed rights that governments were instituted to secure.

All they know is a lifetime of glorious socialism, under the Peoples Democratic Socialist Republic (since 1933). "Saint" FDR was practically deified by his declaration of a state of EMERGENCY, confiscating all the lawful money, and instituting "voluntary" socialism (via Socialist InSecurity / FICA).
They willingly gave up their birthright of sovereignty, freedom and independence, for the crumbs of public charity tossed from the public treasury. They didn't quite realize that anything government GAVE had to be taken from somebody else - like themselves. So now, they get back ten cents on the dollar and think themselves wise.
Of course, the recipient class is pleased.
The donor class is unhappy - and diminishing.
(Less than two taxpayers per recipient, at this time. When it drops to less than one taxpayer per recipient - wuh woh, Scooby!)
Eventually, there will be a taxpayer revolt -or- a recipient riot, or perhaps both.
Should be interesting to historians as they ponder how a nation based upon wisdom was transformed into a nation of idiots.

That represents the majority of America. Most people lean right on economical issues and left on social/cultural issues. What percentage of this country are socially conservative? No more then a third?
