It was previously posted in this thread that under 2022 law, a minor can have an abortion if the parents, legal guardian or adult family member consents to it. Please post the current OH law that says otherwise?
Are you freaking kidding me. She’s 10 - her life is considered in danger based on that alone. Ten year olds are not meant to be pregnant and all pregnancies in children below the age of 14 are considered extremely high risk for both infant and maternal mortality.
Ohio’s attorney general said she could have legally gotten one. I would assume of all the people in the world his assessment of her ability to get an abortion in his state would be the most reliable.

Despite what the attorney general says now, that's not what Ohio Republican politicians were saying back in 2019, when they passed their abortion hearbeat law, which is in effect today; back then, when asked about such hypothetical scenarios, they usually either deflected or insinuated that the girl should be forced to give birth. For example, back in 2019, when Ohio's lieutenant governor was asked about the possibility of an 11 year old girl being impregnanted by a rapist, here is how he answered:
"My heart goes out to everybody in that terrible situation. ... I also know that at the point there is a heartbeat, we're talking about a human life ... I hope we can find compassion to help give that child a chance at life no matter what terrible circumstance led up to that situation."
This kind of response infers that Ohio Republicans, through this legislation, intended to deny girls in their early teens the opportunity to terminate their pregancies, and that they accepted that they did not consider such pregnancies to be extremely high risk for either infant or maternal mortality, as they had no problem saying that they felt such pregnancies should be carried to term.
So, if this illegal raped her, as it now appears based upon the girls account, will he be tried and imprisoned, or taken to the border, realeased, so he can sneak back in and repeat?
Could the Mother be tring to hide the abortion, & the reporting to protect the rapist? Was the rapist the Mother's boyfriend?
Could the Mother have endanged her Daughter, and was trying to avoid that shame, and DFACS's attention?
A) Nonsense. She got an abortion because she was raped and she is 10 years old, not to help pro-choice supporters.
B) Her mother took her to CPS. That is not covering it up. She had an abortion within a short amount of time of learning she was pregnant, so her mother was on the ball and not trying to hide anything.
well...it did take them 20 days from the June 22 reporting to CPS to find the rapist.

The Columbus Dispatch first reported that Gerson Fuentes was arrested after police said he confessed to raping a child on multiple occasions. He has been charged with rape, and the outlet reported that he was possibly in the country illegally.
