It doesn't sound like they did a rape test on her right after the rape. Instead, it sounds like they took DNA samples in Indiana from the aborted material.

Over the past few days no one seemed to be able to find records about a rape.
That's a problem. Why didn't the OH doctor report the rape? Seems the investigation only started in IN after people started asking questions about the several severe missteps in this story.

If CPS knew about this on June 22 and informed the police, how do you know that it wasn't CPS or the police who first contacted the doctor?

Why didn't CPS know abortion under these circumstances is legal in OH? Why did CPS allow the unnecessary wild goose chase into IN for an abortion? That makes no sense.

By law the doctors were required to report that rape. It doesn't appear that they did.
Yes. Huge red flag.

Stop worrying about the least important thing. (IMO)
It is now reported, the story is true, the alleged rapist is in custody.
The 10 year old is no longer pregnant.

Next time crime reporting will be more efficient given the exposure of this case. Feel better.
What real difference does it make in the scheme of things.

Why would CPS send her out of state for an abortion when that wasn't necessary?

Maybe mom's boyfriend. Maybe he had access to the 10-year-old some other way.

Maybe the mom took the girl to IN due to confusion over the law. It is new, after all. Plus, some politicians are on record saying that there is no exception in OH law for rape or incest.

Yes. There is a legal obligation to report the rape of a child.
