I’m surprised Pelosi went to Taiwan, because there was no reason to go there in the first place.

I’m also surprised China made such a huge deal about it, and then did nothing when it actually happened.

Both sides look stupid, weak, and ineffectual.

Lastly, I’m not convinced that Biden would’ve done anything if they shot the plane down. What could he have done? Start WWIII over visiting a country that we don’t recognize in the first place and probably wouldn’t support anymore than what we do in Ukraine in the event of an invasion?

In reality it's a nothing burger just like the last one. I read the bill and the MSM isn't telling people the truth

Then explain to us what the bill actually does.

Not only do we recognize it but Biden publicly said we would defend Taiwan

Absolutely and we are. The chips act is a part of that. Diversification of sourcing is underway.

Are you serious? You're reading into this what you think you see. Who do you think sees war as preferable to solving the diversification problem?

The reason we're not diversified is because of the cost and time to build fabs. A 3nm (state of the art) TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor) fab costs $20B and takes a few years to build. Most chip design companies use a fab-less business model. It's simply too expensive to build them and the technology is changing all the time so companies contract out the fabrication of their designs to the specialists like TSMC who do one thing and do it very well. One of the notable chip design companies who still builds its own fabs is Intel. They have suffered from this recently because their process technology has fallen a step behind the state of the art. Taiwan does this hyper-expensive bit of technology very well and they have tons of experience with it. They've gathered in most of the market that way and its been good for the chip design houses and them.

In response to the geopolitical pressures from China TSMC has begun construction of a fab in Arizona. Should be online in a few years. You don't throw these things together at a moments notice.

Why am I educating you? You can read up on this yourself. I want my three minutes of life back that I spent teaching you something.

Okay that's your opinion but, only time will be judge of that. The MSM haven't really mentioned much about this at all, too much bigger issues been taking the spotlight. That discussion would too boring, so that not going to spend much time there. I just rather believe in hope for tomorrow.
