Who is saying he wanted to keep them? He probably didn't even know that they'd been delivered to Mar A Logo to begin with. The boxes were found in the basement storage, among dozens of other moving boxes.
When it became apparent that he'd had them, in Jan. he had his lawyers go down to the basement storage unit to dig them out, all the while being in continued contact with the National Archive. They sent back 15 boxes to the NA, and apparently felt they'd found everything.
Then in June the feds showed up to do a sweep of Mar A Logo to see if anything was missed, and apparently found nothing.
Then the FBI shows back up Monday and starts taking everything they could lay their hands on?

It makes complete sense that the Party of Fiscal Responsibility, which was fine with Trump blowing the deficit and the national debt out like no president ever had before, is also The Law And Order Party, totally OK with the most lawless president of our lifetimes. Hypocrites.
There would not be any trouble now if he had only complied with the requests of law enforcement officials. (Where have we heard that before?)
A lot of that deficit was necessary spending to rebuild the military that Obama had gutted in his 8 years. Trump’s tax cuts helped the economy boomed that the fed got the highest revenue it had in generations so he helped the fed get back the spending and it would have continued if not for covid and the Democrat shutdowns.
Andrew Yang and Mario Cuomo have the correct takes about this. The FBI had better show proof of some serious, harmful crime on Trumps part, not just a minor document dispute, or this was a grave political mistake that will strengthen Trump.

First, first, Cuomo is about as dishonest of a leftist hack as ever breathed, so he has zero value to add to any conversation. Secondly, these criminals have already engaged in, and apparently with zero consequence, what is borderline treason in their attempt to subvert the 2016 election with their wiretapping and surveillance of an opposition party presidential campaign. Not a single stinking one of these criminals have suffered any consequence. In fact, Director Comey wrote a freaking book, went on book tours, and admitted in interviews how he attempted to set-up the President, along with the already established fact that he lied under oath more than once. Further, his actions made life a living hell and bankrupted some people forced to defend themselves against salacious charges cooked up by Comey’s FBI .. Rudy Giuliani, George Papadopoulus, Carter Paige, General Flynn, Steve Bannon, Roger Stone, among others …. yes 30 FBI goon squad members raided Stone’s house too, as the CNN cameras were already there ahead of time to capture the “show”.
Of course, all that was followed by 4 years of false allegations and two impeachments, followed by the most massive election fraud in history in 2020.
Has anyone been held to account for any of this? Hell no. Why? Simple .. the very top of the Law Enforcement food chain is behind these crimes, so, who is there to prosecute them? Nobody. PERIOD.
As for the “court of public opinion”, I could type out what I just did until my fingers bleed, and not one knucklehead will change their view, because they are irredeemably trapped in the “orange man bad” psychosis, and wouldn’t throw parties an cheer if the FBI were to gun down President Trump in the middle of the street, in broad daylight. The throngs of these demonically possessed nitwits would applaud. So, nobody is going to say boo about anything these crooks do, because we have seen this for 6 straight years.
As I said, you are free to believe whatever you want about Trump. Don't expect me to agree with you, and don't expect me to summarize in a post all the nasty things he has done. Read a book or two if you really want to know.

How can he get in hot water when the discretion to determine how the PRA is implemented is up to him? Even before Trump, the courts have always sided with POTUS/VPOTUS on this.

You guys are a nervous wreck. All of you think Trump is innocent so why are you worried and why the sharp reaction? If Trump is innocent he won’t be charged with anything and this stops there. The fact you all have this sharp reaction makes me think you are insecure about him and know deep down he’s a liar and a criminal.
