That kind of thinking is prevalent in the Left, who think anyone who questions them is a Fascist.
Yes, the Proud Boys have a known track record being a politically motivated right wing FSU crew. As stated they are what the right claims BLM are but are right wing, not left like BLM are. How anyone defends the Proud Boys but attacks BLM is beyond me because by comparison BLM protests besides a few bad apples typically not related to the actual group FSUs while it seems the Proud Boys all they want to do is agitate and FSU.
And if you believe the article, one Proud Boy pushed against the police line which initiated a wave of violence from the 150-200 counterprotesters.
Who was responsible for the violence again?
From the article. Notice how the reporter identifies the individual as a Proud Boy even after the person says they are NOT affiliated with that group? Why the lie?
A scuffle ensued as a Proud Boy attempted to push past the police, said a man who gave his name only as Richard. He said he watched the violence as a “straight pride” supporter but did not identify as a Proud Boy himself.
Counterprotesters started throwing water bottles in retaliation. A blast went off, and a firework ballooned from the street in red streaks... a bush caught fire, leading the police to call the event an “unlawful gathering” and clamp down.... a smoke bomb is what ignited the bush.
The problem is there are a number on the right especially the "moral majority" (like the poster you are replying to is a part of judging by post history) who believe it actually does. Just as they believe teachers are actually groomers and pedophiles. The moral majority is full of lies.
How does recognizing that a gay pride flag represents sexual relationships have anything to do with morality?

well yeah. I believe the police report and the arrest records.
they are official after all.
but you can think the police are in on it also.
Love the spin.
do you now admit that is was not peaceful or are you still sticking with the proud boys eating cookies and minding their own business.
Instead of a nazi flag, since we're talking about LGBTQ, how about a cross or other Christian symbol? If someone was gay and decided not to do business with a shop that had a cross in it's window, would that be considered a reasonable way to react to the symbol?
They would be applauded for their action. /shrug/
Amazing how that reaction doesn't apply in other circumstances.

Hate to tell you this but anti-LGBTQ folks aren't all a bunch of white people from the right.
It's a dirty secret, kinda like why the NYC anti-asian hate crimes taskforce won't show attacker data to the public.
Before the FBI changed their hate crime portal and made it impossible to use in certain ways, you could see that about half the hate crime attacks on gay men was by black men. (Raw numbers, not adjusted for population).
So, if you want your complaints about broad brush attacks and lies to be taken seriously, you might not want to lead with one of your own.

I looked up FSU and all I could find was Florida State University.

I saw that. I just gave the benefit of the doubt to the reporter. At my age, I should probably know better.
So, if you take the man's word, not a Proud Boy so the "evidence" provided by foodyum is unverified and most likely FALSE.
Maybe foodyum would like to try again?
