Don’t get pregnant if you don’t want to.
9 out of 10 of these pregnancies are due to being irresponsible.
That is the cold hard truth.
However, laws should absolutely allow abortion for medical reasons, or rape. Every state.
Right. So men need to suck it up an pay CS and be a parent because he shouldn't have created a pregnancy if he didnt want to. He should have been more responsible.
Just wondering though why should a rapist be absolved of paying child support?
How is this issue affecting the OP? If it isn't something OP is currently facing or will ever face, and it isn't affecting someone in his family, then what's the problem? Why worry about it? Laws determine what is and isn't allowed, legally, in each state.

You are assuming that poster cares about the woman's health. He doesn't. He continually states that the statistics around maternal mortality are perfectly fine with him. So what if the U.S. is the worst industrialized nation on the planet as far as maternal mortality. He doesn't see this as a problem because not enough women die for him to consider it as such.
I don't know why but I was amazed at the indifference and dismissive reply about wow only 17.4 (which is actually more like 26 per 100000 now) what's the big deal? As long as its not his wife.
One, it is a big deal to the woman, her family, her husband, father, mother, other children. And two, its a big deal that a country as great as the US has such little regard for the lives and health of pregnant women and actual children.
No wonder the US is an embarrassing first place for maternal deaths for a first world industrialized county.
We dont want women to have safe legal abortions, even in life threatening or risky pregnancies, we dont want our tax dollars to go for helping care for these babies, we dont want the fathers to be inconvenienced by helping care for (parentally or financially) their children they created. Why would we care that pregnant women are dying unnecessarily.

Absolutely correct. In his mind, it's not enough women to worry about. Same attitude towards women whose bodies are forever changed after pregnancy and childbirth.
Well the topic is about men and them legally opting out of paying child support. Why does everyone keep injecting women and their BC into the discussion instead of addressing men and their BC.

A person can't have an opinion on an issue unless it affects them personally? Since when?

People can explore issues that dont directly affect them.
Yep, because there will always be irresponsibility. It's a convenient excuse. Much better to discuss who should have the legal right to do what, although there will never be 'equality' in that.
Other than minors and the mentally impaired and those incarcerated legal rights are pretty much equal.

Nothing too worry about, period! You and yours just take remote situations and use them to make a point for your pro-abortion stances.
So what that a woman's body is changed somewhat from pregnancy and childbirth? Is it earth shattering for most? Do they lose their ability to function as a normal human being? Are you suggesting that women stop producing children? You're not making any sense here.
I am all for women to be able to abort if their lives are at risk or they are raped but that doesn't seem enough for you and yours. Why is that?
