Oh much longer than that. NY hates Trump and has gone after him many times over the years.

True enough, and has also many times caught him and his cohorts in illegal and unethical doings. Trump University and the charity that had to be shut down are just two that pop to mind. Why is it so impossible for Trump defenders to believe that he is indeed someone who engages in actual criminal behavior on the regular? White-collar crime is notoriously hard to prove so it's not surprising this kind of investigation goes on for years. But no one Trump does business with is coming forward to defend him and the Trump Organization. Shouldn't that tell you something?

It's not a criminal suit, it's a civil suit.

Or maybe Trump has done illegal things for many years and it's finally catching up with him. 'Bout time. Funny how some will shoot the messenger and not hold the one who has committed these acts accountable.

So the Democrat hack from N.Y. say Trump and his children committed massive fraud but she is only doing a civil suit and wants money?

I'm sure Trump would not agree with you. And until August 8th, none of his wrongdoings have been brought into the court system. Now they have. He can rail and scream all he wants about witch hunts, but courts actually look at evidence. I'm sure he will continue castigating James, et al., when all of this is his own damn fault.

So if it's illegal and a crime by a civil lawsuit and she wants money? sounds like a political shakedown.

It seeks to recover more than $250 million in what James’s office says are ill-gotten gains received through the alleged deceptive practices. While the lawsuit itself is not a criminal prosecution, James (D) said she has referred possible violations of federal law to the Justice Department and the IRS.

You know who's not laughing? Trump and his kids. This is not a kangaroo court. This is a real court where real charges of real crimes and real fraud have been filed. Shrug it off if you must. This isn't impeachments or the January 6th Commission or the Russian investigation, although none of those have proven to be nothing burgers either. Unfortunately, the wheels of justice turn very slowly, and this won't be adjudicated for a long time yet.

Trump University may have been a scam - but no worse than any other university that charges a boatload and sends too many graduates out into the world with basket weaving degrees.
