You can keep parroting the "private businesses can do whatever they want" mantra forever, it's just not applicable to the monopolistic social media platforms like Twitter, FB, YT, etc. For example, Facebook IS the internet for a lot of folks in developing countries. It became a powerful political entity. I think everyone with some sanity can support the reversal of blatant censorship.

The rules were always pretty straightforward on these platforms before the 2020 historic social media censorship movement. Just no hate speech and the other trivial stuff. Other than that just let the discussions free flow. Echo chambers are the worst way for these global platforms to operate.

Good.

I’m not for censorship, especially of someone like Trump - first, he’s entitled to express his views, like everyone else, second, it makes him into even more of a martyr than he already is, and third - everyone should have unbridled access to all his thoughts and feelings.

All of them.

What does Twitter, or any social media for that matter, have to do with Free Speech? Has the government taken all the platforms over now?

Bring him on. The DOJ loves it. He be confessing to more crimes before next week gets here, and that makes their job easier.

Bravo to you! Most conservatives are big believers in free speech. I could care less if I agree or disagree with a person's viewpoints but I sure has heck want to hear them!!! That way, I have all of the info needed to make a thorough decision on my beliefs.

After a cryptic tweet from Musk suggesting he'd completed his acquisition of Twitter, Thierry Breton, the European commissioner for the internal market, warned Musk that he will have to comply with the bloc's new digital regulations.
"The bird is freed," Musk tweeted.
In response, Breton quote-tweeted Musk saying: "In Europe, the bird will fly by our rules."

Under the European Union's recently approved Digital Services Act, large tech companies will be required to have robust content moderation systems to ensure they can quickly take down illegal material such as hate speech, incitement to terrorism and child sexual abuse.

Welcome back, free speech.

The adults are back in charge, and it’s about damn time.

No more weaponizing, censoring, and propagating Twitter for the radical woke.

We will see where this goes, I sincerely doubt that they will allow Kanye West to spew his antisemitic messages. If he isn't going to have any policy it will turn into a cesspool like some of the other less used social media. Probably why Truth Social was such a huge success story.
