The fact that 18 million people think that force would be justified to restore Trump to the presidency is a bit scary, I admit.

The fact that nearly twice as many believe that force is justified in order to prevent his return to office is even more scary. That is 30 million people who, a bit more than a year out from an election that could have Trump reelected, inclined to take up arms in an insurrection.

The data comes from the widely respected Chicago Project on Security and Threats, which has been tracking political attitudes toward violence. One of the most striking things about the research is that all the MSM discussion about political violence is Right-wing threats, but vastly larger numbers of Left-wingers actually approve of using violence to achieve political ends.

So, we have more evidence that the left is almost twice as likely to be in favor of violence and insurrection. Can't say I'm surprised.

I don't believe those numbers, and I'm not fan of him.

The fact that we're talking about violence to protect or block a presidential candidate is no small or trivial issue. We wouldn't have even thought about talking about in that in the first 244 years or so of our country.

It's hideous that this is now a matter of discussion and consideration. The concept of law and order has been flushed throughly down the commode, to what would be the revulsion of the Founding Fathers and our ancestors.

FWIW, I don't condone violence in either situation. I believe the law should be upheld, and if there is criminal punishment, then that must follow the law, too.

Your article "interprets" the actual data on a right-leaning slant.

Well I dont remember so much violence after an election such as 2017. So yeah, they proved it. Also the media and their preferred candidates did practically condone the insanity.

Actually, just slightly more Democrats than Republicans support bipartisan solutions to political violence, not actual violence:

Quote:
Vast Support for Bipartisan Solutions to Political Violence across both the
Right and the Left
77 percent of American adults – the equivalent of 200 million people -- agree with that
statement. These 200 million represent the vast majority of Democrats (81%), Republicans
(78%), and Independents (60%).

It really is hideous that we are talking about this but that is right where the Democrats have placed us.

Yes, Trump is controversial but why? He put America First and tried to MAGA which was for every Citizen and Legal Immigrant. What is wrong with that? Shouldn't that be what every politician from town to state to Federal should work for everyday?

Violence is not the answer but locally it got ugly during the political season with Trump signs being vandalized, people being roughed up for daring to wear a MAGA hat and on 2 occasions an elderly man was assaulted for daring to hold a Trump sign in public. I live in the Loony Liberal land of MA.

We had 100 nights of violent protests that amounted in deaths and Billions of dollars in property damage and it was all done by Left wingers. On the Right we had an afternoon on Jan6th where a mob got out of hand but the majority were respectful. Yes there were some doors and windows smashed and a few cops roughed up but nothing was torched, no statues toppled, no paintings trashed and the only one that died was a protester.

When you think about it the Left has been responsible for some of the biggest acts of violence from Slavery, the Civil War, the KKK, Denying Civil Rights and now we have a crisis coming across the Border in the from of Human trafficking and drugs that are hurting, enslaving and killing people while draining resources that should be going towards helping citizens.

30 Million people are ready to lie, cheat, fight and commit acts of civil disobedience to bar Trump from office and THEY wonder why WE think the Election and Vote counting was manipulated to install Joe? The violent ones think that they are the Righteous ones and anything they do is justified.

Not all of them. The ones who aren’t violent don’t seem to mind if their comrades are, though.

Yes it should be and the fact that politicians reacted to that the way they did speaks volumns.
