The reports CLEARLY stated they were NOT balloons.

The Chinese balloon had a hell of a payload underneath the BALLOON and it was called a BALLOON.

DOD has lots of Public Affairs Officers and they are the best in the business.

They chose their words very carefully. They know that "words matter".

Just to totally confuse the issue.....this link is worth reading. From a University of Washington professor in climate sciences.

Now you talk about the "payload"?

So, let me ask you something. Are you OK with all these "balloons" being shot down?
I'll defer to the military on that. They have far more knowledge than any of us. I am going to make one assumption, that the objects are investigated with a U-2 or similar plane with a multitude of sensors that can determine what, if any, signals are being sent from the object.

Any number of reasons why objects aren't detected quickly, from atmospheric conditions to radar signature. The B-2 is designed to have a tiny radar signature, and wouldn't be detected easily.

Maybe I’m getting paranoid but I just heard two explosions coming from above my house. No fireworks seen but it is Super Bowl Sunday.

Reuters just posted this. Pretty interesting that the NORAD head just said at the latest news conference, he can't rule out aliens. (An emphatic NO WAY it's that would have been nice. ) They really don't know what they are....

"We're calling them objects, not balloons, for a reason," VanHerck, head of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and Northern Command, said.

Asked if he's ruled out extraterrestrials, VanHerck said he had not ruled out anything yet.

"I'll let the intel community and the counterintelligence community figure that out," he said.

Another defense official, speaking on condition of anonymity, subsequently said the military had not seen any evidence that the objects were extraterrestrial.

ADD: USAF now saying the same thing - can't rule out extra-terrestrials https://www.reuters.com/world/us/rul...et-2023-02-13/

Hmm - it was "octagonal shaped with strings hanging off." Maybe those "strings" could be antennae? No visible means of propulsion.

Could the Chinese or Russians be sending odd shaped things toward us after the big balloon just to irritate the US?

The situation is getting curiouser and curiouser.

If you really wanna get paranoid, go on TikTok and use some keywords and watch the videos that people are posting. There’s absolutely something going on out there. Lol of course there’s people that want to take advantage of the news to gain views and stuff but some of the stuff is legit. There is some weird stuff going on up in our skies.

I would not put it past people on social media to hype this up for views or financial gain. There are already people claiming to see something and they are just photographing planets.
