There is nothing wrong with parents being responsible about the reading material in taxpayer funded school libraries.
Although, both sides need to come together and have a rational approach to what is age appropriate or not for their children.
You miss the point. These people pushing this is schools are radical activists. I know because I sit in EVERY meeting, follow every development and know everything that's going on now. I thought my red district was immune and I found out the activists are here as anywhere. Not only that, a TEACHER who is a radical activist is organizing angry protests IN SCHOOL DURING SCHOOL HOURS USING SCHOOL EMAILs.
The comment above shows the ignorance of the average person to the agenda that is being pushed in schools. They don't WANT to come together. They want complete control.
Where they in Elementary or Jr high ? And I do understand why books might help a kid who is not sure about his sexual nature. I had 3 sons, 6 grands , n 2 great. They wouldn’t not pick up a book unless was forced for a book report - unless they were interested. My one grand had issues learning how to read. After got it- thrift store runs every weekend to buy books. Had to build a shelf close to the ceilings for her books. We monitored, but did not impede her selections.
I did however constantly check computers and my son blocked his kids cell phones or had parental controls. That we did, not books.
But I’ll try to get a copy of those two books to better answer, I don’t believe it’s porn. Recently head Nora Roberts books also were removed. Lord

I consider that- more sexual than a book that explains things that are sexual in nature. Things some would identify with. I understand most of the books are geared to LBGTQ- why it upsets you so.

Do as they did in Polk county Fl. Make each parent curtail what they want “their kid “ to see, read etc. or not. I agree with that.
You know most of these kids feel lost or suicidal or turn to drugs or bad behavior because of “parents attitudes” more than anything. They hurt them the most. Whose protecting them against critical hateful parents ?

Books that are not made available to children at taxpayers expense are not banned. That word is being misused. Banned would only apply if private ownership or sale of a book were prohibited.

I’m 70 yr old mom of 3 sons - 6 grands - 2 great grands and very involved w family. My one DIL is a teacher w a masters degree in Dade County Fl - huge school district. Ret Fed for DHS who worked in law enforcement and child porn, human trafficking, and victims coordinating was part of my job, besides drugs, gangs etc
I know first hand, how deplorable and evil humans can get. You would throw up at some cases I know about. My take, kids need information before they get duped by predators. In the case of many abused children - they had no idea, zero, what was happening was not the norm. It goes on for years… Sorry but that’s what I see.
