Stupidest thing I've ever heard that this is being allowed anywhere. The word squatter is silly, they are criminals and thieves breaking and entering, trespassing and vandalizing property. Squatter, my butt.

Squatters rights are WAY out-dated.

The intention of squatters rights was to allow fallow land to be worked when farms were abandoned. If someone took up residence and then worked the land, the government saw that as as better than the entire works going back to nature.

Those laws also date back to when America was virtually empty and there was way more land that people wanted, than people who wanted it. Today it is the opposite. Not enough land for the demand.

All squatting today is done by criminals who are trying to STEAL a residence from a legal owner who hasn't had a chance or a reason to occupy that dwelling for a while.

The Democrats are always "reforming" everything. How about reforming the idiotic laws that allow squatters to live in your home for free for 6 months during the eviction process. These laws desperately need fixing in favor of owners against criminals squatting in homes.

Why is it only on Dems? Some of the most generous squatters rights laws are in red states like Montana and Wyoming. In Montana, squatters can take legal possession of the house if they stay there for only 5 years. This is not a Federal level issue, it's a state by state issue.

i remeber a law that claim, if you stop payment, they had 3x the time before eviction, so didnt pay one month, they could not be touch for 3 month, there some rentor here where the rent is due, everyday, but payable 30 days in advance, so if you was late, you had 3 days to be evicted. one apartment compplex, the rent was due daily but you had to pay a year in advance. that was like $15,000 you had to pay

Common sense and judgment are called for in each situation, not some black and white rule. Dems only see things at extreme ends of an issue. Good law and about time!

Left loves hard edits, all or nothing, common sense not welcome.
