What will McCain say about this since he opposes a timetable for withdrawal.

McCain, in the Congressional Record, said "the road ahead is likely to be long and hard, but America must follow it through to success."

"Our exit strategy in Iraq is not the withdrawal of our troops, it is victory," he said.

"By suggesting that withdrawal, rather than victory, is on the minds of America's legislators, we do this great cause a grave disservice

It is called a "conundrum."

Now that the Iraqi Government is aligned with Obama in scheduling an orderly withdrawal, McCain will have to back off or admit he wants "Victory" for the Oil, not so much the Godd Iraqi People.

Tough spot.

You've got the meaning right, but the wording is wrong. Now, we need security agreements with the Iraqis to protect our national interests which may be the no-bid oil contracts that our oil companies might get. See, we have to stay to protect our interests.

Oh well lots of time between now and the election and a lot can happen. Thats why we need adaptive pragmatic leadership that can lead in a changing environment. Not stay the course just because they said they would previously.
