Are you really serious? Because, I'm telling you here and now, if you really believe what you just wrote, it is precisely why I believe the Democrats would not defend us if and when it becomes necessary.
Our best defense is in the strength of our military. We hope we never have to send our men and women to war, but that is what they are there for: to defend us if we are attacked.
The 9-11 hijackers were but a few of the bees. The hive is in the Middle East. We have to go to the hive and wipe it out before we are stung again.

One final point. It is (according to the Constituion) the duty of government to "provide for the common defense". Read it. You might learn something.
If you have to defend yourself, then you are afraid. Why are you afraid? Is fear a position of strength? Are bombs overhead a sign of power? This thinking is what is nonsense. Go ahead, put up your dukes and prepare for war. Reality will gladly support your intentions. Body bags for everyone! How about this for a novel idea: how about simply not having enemies? It is a choice after all. That is a position of strength.
As for the Constitution, yes, it says it is the duty of the our government to provide for the common defense. I wonder then why all our troops are in other countries...shouldn't they be here at home instead? I believe that our troops are currently being used to protect our business interests, not our country or our freedoms. As horrible as it sounds, "We The People" are really expendable in all of this.

Teddy Roosevelt was also a Republican, but his ideals were far from what is acceptable by the RNC today.
If Saddam truly had WMDs this time around, he would have used them against American troops. But he didn't.

No, we spent it so we could kill people. In Asia. Who are no threat to our way of life, although if they wanted to, in a good two-month period (they've only had one of those) they might be able to kill about as many of us as our own drunk drivers kill. (1,500 a month). While we are in Asia killing people, Americans are still at home killing people.
We spent all the money on arms because we like to kill, but we take more pleasure in killling Asians. Who are not here killing us. 99% of the Asians we have killed in my lifetime were either perfectly innocent, or were courageously defending their country against an invading army intent on killing them. And Americans don't even know that feels like.
I'm sick and tired of all these liberals jumping into everything and telling everybody what's going on while they sit in their A/C office all day at work. It seems that the people with the most common sense are Republicans. Republicans are mainly service men and women such as police officers, firefighters, and people serving in the military along with construction workers, etc. Take the 9/11 conspiracy for example... "Oh, uh, bombs were placed in the WTC before they collapsed, uh, Bush was in on the attacks, uh, Bush is stupid for starting a war, etc." I know people who served in the military under Clinton and they said he was a "jerkoff." Anyway, listen to this FDNY firefighter and you'll understand what he's talking about... He's 100% right... And he's a Republican.
Not all liberals agree with this theory, you know. Bill Maher, who's a self proclaimed liberal and as anti religions as you can get, thinks the theory is crazy to say the least. He once threw an audience from his show because this audience was heckling him on his stand about the 9/11 theory. Southpark, a cartoon show with (arguably) leftist agenda, had a hillarious episode that mocked people who believe in this theory. So to say liberals jumping into everything is untrue.
The thing is, with any big calamities, there'll always be conspiracy theories floating around, waiting for gullible people to build a mountain out of them. JFK, John Lennon assasination, Ronald Reagan's attempted assassination, for goodness sake, some people are still arguing to this day whether or not we really landed on the moon. What can I say, gullible people are abundantly available in this world.
