Name the last time California was even close to going Republican during a presidential election..

Just wondering what California could do with the revenues from offshore drilling
to replinishe the state coffers ? Oh thats right they don't want to share it with
the other 49 states but they won't hesitate to ask the other 49 to send them
money to rescue them from their own mismanagement and bumbling ineptitude.
That's show biz for you.............

But they vote Republican governors.. and though he may not be as right wing as expected he is still a Republican. And there is a proposition to disband gay marriage, this would not be the case in a completely liberal state. I lived in the San Joaquin Valley and it was the bible belt andd that is a huge part of the state.

Easy! Cali went to G.H.W. Bush in 1988. By the way, it also went to Republicans in 1984... and 1980, 1976, 1972, 1968... etc.

Michigan has not voted for a Republican president in 2 decades yet it is not synonymous with 'liberal'

That's ALOT of revenue gone and alot of jobs lost. Take a look at the true accurate numbers what the illegals cost this state and it's almost too much to fathom. Teachers threatening a strike for increased pay- well for cripes sakes, tell the Gov to GO ON A FINANCIAL DIET and STOP supporting all the bloated, irrational spending and programs including schooling, housing and footing the bill on illegals that don't belong here! Only people who KNOW the over spending in this state could appreciate the revenue saved were this state to be managed properly. This ain't rocket science. It's really quite simple! .
The classic problem of side A being completely unable to 'walk a yard in the other guy's (side B) shoes'. Business owners want minimum wage lowered back to $3.95/hr and all taxes eliminated. Workers want minimum wage increased to at least $11.00/hr and health insurance on top of that. And no one, no one at all (except M. Moore) notices that a single CEO of a large firm makes in one year the entire minimum wage payroll of the state of California. Eliminate all social programs, fine. Repatriate the illegals, okey dokey. Now what? I've got a better idea but it wouldn't work so why bother but enough griping about the way things are, its the way you all want it. If you didn't it wouldn't be this way. You support the rich making all that money because you hope it might be you someday. Thats why juries award people millions who slip and fall in supermarkets. They are hoping the karma will come back around. Lawyers don't help things either since they work on percentage on those big personal injurie suits. It will be interesting to see if this bailout will mattter. Everything American is tainted right now.
