Why do I never hear the middle class taking responsibility for there situation? Sure you could pass some blame to govt., companies etc. But I never hear the middle class talk about taking ANY responsibility for there financial situation. It's always the fault of someone else. When does the middle class except any fault?

Personal responsibility and accountability is no longer an American trait, it is so much easier to just blame someone else.

Unfortunately, that is what has been "trickling down" with the Bush/McCain economic plan...not the wealth.

Correct. I believe it's on the citizenship test now:

When something goes wrong b/c of something you did:
a. Own up, take responsibility, and pay the price
b. Go on Oprah and explain how it's b/c you are a victim
c. Blame the government, big corporations, boogie man, Keebler elves
d. Stab yourself in the stomach with a Japanese sword
e. a & e
f. b & c

Turns out it is a trick question and the correct answer is "Nothing ever goes wrong b/c of something I did."

People who exercise personal responsibility do not wait for anything to "trickle down". They work hard and take control of their own life.

Wow, is this thread for real? There has been a large class seperation in America, jobs have been moving over seas, etc, and you blame the people who the rich took the jobs from to move over seas so they can make more money?

Seriously, are you evil or something?

I have no mercy for people like you scums who posted in this thread.

I guess it depends upon what you consider "middle class" and what responsibilities they are not handling. Most American are middle class, they work hard to support themselves and their families. However, as a result of having a modest income, may have difficulty making ends meet. I don't necessarily think it a result of being irresponsible though.

So running up credit card debt, buying houses they couldn't afford, etc, etc...that's not irresponsible?
