I agree with the OP.

Finally a person to show us that the liberal media only shows us lies to support their agenda! They don't show us the nice parts, nope they show us starving children and dead people to push their political agenda. With the libby media in charge, I never knew Africa was nice. The libbys only dwell on whats negative to get us to scarred to vote for them.

Default Exactly what is your point?

I am sorry but when did views of massive cityscapes become more beautiful than Africa's natural environments. This is a continent with such an abundance of life and beauty, I just can't see it comparing to these pictures of cities. I mean, don't get me wrong many of these pics are quite breath taking. But nothing can compare to the beauty nature reveals to us all everyday.

Also, while it is wonderful that there are these big, thriving cities in Africa, it doesn't change the fact that a large portion of Africa's population live their lives hungry and afraid. And obviously there is quite a bit of money running through these African nations, so why are the people allowed to suffer. While some see these beautiful pictures as tribute to African accomplishment, I see money that could have obviously been better spent helping the people of that country. There is nothing wrong with having big, beautiful cities as long as you have cared for your people first.

Yes, there are many beautiful cities in Africa. But it is certainly not the norm across the continent. There are countries in Africa who have been locked into civil wars for decades. Millions of refugees come streaming into camps without adequate food or water. There is famine, there is death, there is disease. I personally have seen the cities of Africa on TV many times, as well as more shows about Africa's natural beauty than I can count. But that doesn't change the fact that far too many people in Africa live in deplorable conditions. So while it is wonderful that the OP brought these pictures here for us to enjoy, we must not get sucked into some kind of grand idea that everything is fine over there and media just wants us to think they have it bad. The media may put a lot of emphasis on the bad that happens over there. But maybe we should see it everyday so that we can truly appreciate what we have here. I don't know about you guys, but I wish I could go over there and feed these people and help them. Hell, just from leftovers alone I could feed a small family a good meal everyday. So when I look at the cities I can't help but think, "Why are any of those people suffering, there is obviously more than enough to go around" Well, more than enough until greed takes over.

That's all well and good, but pictures like the one at http://farm1.static.flickr.com/145/4...16c894b7f6.jpg are what I would consider beautiful. I hate cities and the crowded lifestyles that come with them. I like that I can drive for fifty miles in any direction, non-interstate roads, and not see a traffic light. Heck, some days, I might not see another car!

That was my first reaction. I like cities & all, but I was hoping to see photos of the beautiful countryside.

Forgive me for saying so, but I find it astonishing that anyone would find high-rise buildings and parking garages beautiful. Personally, all cities look pretty much alike to me and those in Africa are not different. The beauty that I find in that country is in the wilderness and amongst the indigenous peoples and the ancient traditions that make them unique. Cities? bah.
