A great piece on Republican obstructionism and how the GOP's approval rating is in the toilet.

Anyone who is taking Obama's approval rating at this point, seriously (even if they were 90%) needs to get a grip.
After 3 months, then maybe, they can hold a little water.
And like someone said, W's approval ratings (again though, kind of silly in his 1st month) were plummeting, until......9/11/01.
Oh, so you're one of those who pops out kids so you get a handout with my taxes....I see....
funny??? I didn't think repubs would do that but I guess they like it when it's THEM getting the free handout.
See -- if you pay taxes it is not a handout when some of the money you already paid into the system comes back to you.....it is in fact your money. Quite unlike a handout, but perhaps you liberals can't see the difference anymore between earned money and welfare

I believe that in order to recieve welfare you have to have payed into the system for 18 consecutive months. Then you recieve only amount that you qualify for based on what you payed in. Isn't that the same thing?

I was responding tongue in cheek with the poster who accused me of being a welfare recepient by accepting the child tax credit.
I have no problems with people who find themselves in financial trouble - often by getting laid off or by a medical bills. Yes, those people do need help in the form of temporary 'welfare' whether that comes in guise of housing assistance, food stamps or what have you.
