For a while, yes. Once the ice is gone, the rate of warming in the oceans will increase and that will trigger the clathrates. Then there'll be a rapid decline im boating.

The "wizards of smart" said in 2007 you'd be able to sail through the north pole cause all the ice would be gone. It's thicker than ever now. I'd be more worried about global cooling right now than anything because that is where the trend is going.
