Wrong, the PRESIDENT deserves no credit for a stock recovery but they do get the blame, especially when the presidents policies directly contributed to the downfall. The fact that you cant face the truth is your fault, not mine..
I note you did not answer my question, what EXACTLY has Obama done to cause the stock market to recover?
This seems to have made the market happy:
"The Treasury put out the details today of a plan to rescue America's banks, and Wall Street responded with two thumbs up and a triple-digit rally."
of course it did because it moved the toxic assets from the banks balance to the taxpayers liability. Why wouldnt investors like that? This doesnt mean its a good move, it means the investors like the fact that banks will be able to unload their bad assets and investors can buy them using six cents on the dollar, while at the same time, tax payers pickup the balance.
the proposal doesnt fix the economy, it moves the liabilities from the banks to the taxpayers...

Good move or bad, judging from your response, you agree that the president did do something that had a positive effect on the stock market.
So, then we'll be less reactive next time it goes down?
You're welcome to look at my post history to notice that I am pretty much the opposite of reactive with regards to how the stock market reacts to political news and thinks it's a terrible idea that people treat it like some kind of Alien God that shouldn't be angered.
Does anyone know how far Main Street lags behind Wall Street in terms of recovery? Wall Street seems to have stabilized, but unemployment is gaining speed. Is there any consistent time frame when the recovery of Wall Street effects Main Street?
Yup.
And all but about 250 or so of those nearly 5,000 points the DOW is currently down are points that dropped while GW was President.
Ken
PLEASE!!!! Don't throw FACTS at the extreme right wingers...
It goes against the gospel that they hear from their twin Gods: Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity...
It also gets them so internally conflicted that they eat themselves up to gargantuan proportions!!! Just look at Rush!!!
