Just to impose that garbage on those of us who think that Northern Liberalism is nothing short of a mentally deficient social disease which should be eradicated.
Oh, now this is getting interesting. Okay, how exactly would you eradicate people's thoughts? Institute a one-party rule and outlaw opposition? "Re-education" camps, perhaps?

Naw ... REVOLUTION!
Execute traitors!
FYI: not all NYers were supporters of Northern Agression Sometimes right is a value worth standing out for!
Totally credible story. If an employee would insult a customer so directly and purposely I would fire them.
I can tell you as a New Yorker, if an employee in a store made some sort of comment I found objectionable, they'd find themselves listening to quite a few comments they hadn't planned on hearing. And then I would see what I could do in the way of getting them fired.
That said, I believe that the OP wasn't just recounting an incident. He was deliberately trying to start arguments. And as evidence I offer the title of this thread. There was no need for that...except in the OP's mind.
The book was indeed a descent read. While biased towards the South's cause, the book was informative and thought provoking.
The cashier was not only wrong, had obviously never read the book or even pulled up a synopsis of it, but was completely out of line and deserved to be fired. Is this a book I keep in my library? No. However, it's worth the read. Just wait for paperback or Amzon ($17). $30 is crazy!
It's expensive because of the tax & spend policies of all the liberals there.
Actually no. It's expensive because of economics. I know this is more of that book learnin' , but it's called the law of supply and demand. The supply of living habitats is far less than the demand for them driving the price upwards. In other words, more people want to live in New York, than there are resources available to house them. This is what makes some areas more expensive than others.
It's also very expensive to live in Kennebunkport, Maine, San Francisco, Miami Beach and Seattle...
