Yeah this is just how I wanna spend my tax dollars as Americans are losing their jobs. As our debt is increasing. Let me pay for Obama to fly around the country
I dont wanna hear him talk about global warming and such anymore
Clinton and Bush both did the same, but Obama ran on a pledge to be different and our econmoy is far worse off.
All the while he lectures American taxpayers.
What is he thinking?
Yup...new tone in Washington...Hope N Screw the taxpayers!!!
Presidential Fundraising Trips Leave Taxpayers With Hefty Tab - Political News - FOXNews.com (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/05/27/presidential-fundraising-trips-cost-taxpayers-thousands/ - broken link)
Gee, right in the subhead there it says, "The Democratic National Committee is expected to pick up part of the cost, but if history is any gauge, taxpayers will pick up most of the tab."
from the rest of the "article", far below the fold, naturally and as usual:
"'The DNC is paying 100 percent of the legally mandated costs for the trip from Nevada to California, and we are complying fully with all legal requirements,' Vietor wrote in an e-mail to FOXNews.com."
"A 2006 report for the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform found that during 2002, political campaigns reimbursed the federal government for $198,000 of the $6.5 million in flight expenses racked up by campaign-related stops made by President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. That's 3 percent of the total cost.
"Taxpayers paid the remaining $6.3 million."
See how misleading the title is? By "Trips" they hoped to trick you into assuming the entire article is about Obama trips, when actually the history-as-gauge is a set of Bush/Cheney trips.
Faux counts on you not to read too closely; certainly not to read more than the top half of anything.

Do you like to be disrespected that way?
I shouldnt be paying a penny for Obama or any president to go out and campaign for anyone. If they wish to do that they find away its not costing me
Just how much do you think the dnc is going to pick up?
So you are OK with Obama preaching one thing and behaving contrary?
I would think taxpayers would not be happy about being disrespected in this way, regardless of party affiliation.

Lol, the question was obviously about the OP's "news" source. Way to avoid answering.
I'm not an apologist for President Obama (I didn't vote for him), but as delusianne accurately pointed out, Bush and Chaney did the same, as well as just about every other President in history.
I'm not a liberal, I'm conservative. However, we have to be honest with ourselves or everything else is worthless.
