I don't believe that women has to face death in order to want an abortion. I'll even go so far as to say that there are some very good non lethal reasons to want an abortion. All women don't love pregnancy any more then all women loathe it. It is highly individualistic, and that bears repeating.
Which is why each woman should be able to make her own decisions about her body and why the government or any other entity or person has no business making those decisions for her.

And I actually agree with that, only with the caveat of restrictions regarding late term abortion.
Why do some people argue over issues that were settled decades ago......move on! Let people take control of their own bodies! Use of a contraceptive by someone is frankly none of your business.
I'm curious about why many Pro-Life people are okay about abortions if the woman/girl is raped. What's the reasoning for making an exception in this case?
I wondered about that, too. A very anti-choice poster said that and I mentioned it in another post but of course there was no response.
I would think if they consider abortion murder(killing a "baby") WHY would it be different if the woman was raped....forcing women to have babies is forcing women to have babies.......(?????)
Yes, I do think the men in the situation should be held responsible for their actions just as a woman should. I think the couple should know where they stand, and both should respond accordingly. And if for some reason all of their precautions still can't stop nature, I think they should honor that result and allow the new lifeform they have created to grow and have a chance at life.
I also think if we are going to make the responsibility 50/50, the choice for abortion should be 50/50 as well. You can't have it one way now and another if the result turns out differently than you planned. If a man fathers a child and is willing to step up to his responsibility, there should be some sort of protection for that man. He should not be left with absolutely no say.
Funny you say that. My friends sister got pregnant with a guy who she was with for 3 or 4 years.
When she told him she was pregnant she also told him she was going to have an abortion.
He CRIED and BEGGED HER. He touched her feet and kissed them. "NOO!! ITS MY CHILD TOO!!!! I WILL TAKE CARE OF IT! I WILL PAY YOU AND BABYSIT."
She gave in to him "willing to be responsible and sort of protection for him" and had the baby.
Now the baby is one and a half year old and he whines and cries if he even has to babysit her for two hours a week. You know why? Because she runs around and he actually has to follow her and make sure she stays out of trouble. He cannot just sit there playing video games anymore. I sat there and had to change her diaper and change her clothes all the while he told me he wishes he could just break her legs so she would not run around anymore. He does not give her a single PENNY. He does not work.
My friends sister REGRETS it. She says she messed up and wishes she never had the child but all the begging and pleading from that guy got to her head.
So honestly, I don't think you know for a fact if a man is willing to be acceptable. Even more reason to leave it entirely up to the woman.
Anyone who doesn't believe that birth control will be (is?) the next target of the anti-abortion gangs is living in denial. We will soon be hearing that sperm and ova are baby seeds and killing them is murdering babies. But this is nothing new. Those who push the anti-abortion movement the most have always opposed birth control.
And after that masturbation will be the next target.
And after that masturbation will be the next target.
For men, the new law of the land will be "More than two shakes, and you're playing with it".
This dictum will be posted, along with a hidden camera, over all public toilets and urinals.

Sometimes there is a very simple reason ...punishment.
But I have also convinced several prolifers that they are actually prochoice using this example. Most people who aren't on the 'front lines' of the abortion debate don't really think through their reasons until you confront them with it. And while there is a few people who don't want any abortions, even for rape or incest or health reasons, most people aren't comfortable going there and will admit they wouldn't want to force someone to give birth under those circumstances.
It is a HUGE difference aborting a 10 week old baby vs taking the morning after pill. I have ultrasound pictures of my son at 14 weeks and I could see a whole baby. No way in hell I would abort that. I have been taking the morning after pill once and i wasn't even sure I was pregnant. I didn't want to take my chances so I just took the pill. It's a responsible thing to do.
