Well, there goes a GOP hopeful...

Wasn't this guy a member of promise keepers?

Whoops, guess he didn't read the part about actually keeping the marital vows.

It makes you wonder, what else is he hiding? What else is about to come out? Was it really with a woman...For heaven sakes the only person he needs to answer too is his WIFE...

Exactly. I'm not sure why he's resigning just for having an affair. I personally don't think affairs have anything to do w/how to run a country.

I could care less about this... totally a personal issue and it is no business of the public.

Will the GOP demand that potential presidential candidates take a vow of celibacy? We all know how well that's worked out for Catholic priests

(BTW I'm not just talking about the small number of pedo-priests, there are far more priests who have had affairs with adult women.)

I don't share Ensign's politics but as long as his girlfriend was of legal age there's no problem.

Yeah, that's why the rethugs spent an awful lot of money going after Clinton. And Edwards got away with it?

Certainly not the first, and certainly not the last. BUT, if he were to run for higher office, he'd rather have the dirty laundry aired now and let bygones be bygones instead of letting his opponent have "breaking news" ammunition that could cripple his candidacy. By the time he runs for higher office (if he were to do so), this will be old irrelevant fodder.

Yes, but all the attention was paid to the cigar stuffin' episode ...
