Which people inside his own cabinet were shocked? Link, please.

So, in your view, Obama should have ignored the counsel he received from Iranian experts, Iranian-Americans, and the Iranian resisters themselves? Please. If Obama had spoken up forcefully "from the get-go," you'd all be screeching about how unsophisticated he is in terms of diplomacy. Transparent. Sorry.

The world only laughed at us during the Bush years. It's not laughing now.

468 people counting 1 vote per 1 second would equal 80,000,000 votes in 2 days not 2 hours. It would take 11,111 people counting votes for 2 hours with 1 vote counted per 1 second. Sound democratic to you?

Thank you congress and my president for telling the world how you feel.
When you done telling the world how terrible it is to crack down on protesters I will remember that when this country revolts against you.

America has acted as the "police" to the world for quite a while now.

America has the history of supporting liberty all over the world. Jimmy Carter had a problem with this and so does Barry.

I would say yes.

A tyranical regime is behaving...well...tyranically. The most powerful and prestigous official in the world has spoken out and that puts the spotlight on the thugs and brings their actions further out into the view of the world. Rather than acquiese and remain timid, Obama has helped to insure that these thugs know others do not accept their actions as legitimate. He has helped to make their horrid behavior part of history. To remain silent indicates there is nothing to protest.

Slightly late in the game, but I applaud Obama. Well said Mr President. This right-wing, half-crazed, quasi-Neocon-who-never-voted-for-Bush salutes you.
No. What it says is that Obama is so preoccupied with his popularity and opinion polls that he'll fence sit until his approval rates drop or criticism increases, then he adjusts tactics.

Would have been nice if he would have used his gift for gab A WEEK AGO instead of now....
EXACTLY. HE DOES WHAT HE DOESN'T WANT TO DO ONLY BECAUSE HIS DEAR 'RATINGS' ARE SHOWING A RESPONSE....WHAT A FAKE.
