Is pedophilia linked to homosexuality? Well no. In fact it appears to be the opposite -That heterosexuality is more likely to be linked to pedophilia than homosexuality.

And yes, I agree with the OP that he is is looking for a scapegoat to take the heat off the church and the way they handled all those cases of predator priests abusing all those children.
A preliminary report commissioned by the nation's Roman Catholic bishops on the roots of the clergy sex abuse scandal found no evidence that gay priests are more likely than heterosexual clergy to molest children, the lead authors of the study said Tuesday.
The full report by researchers at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice won't be completed until the end of next year. But the authors said that their evidence to date found no data indicating that homosexuality was a predictor of abuse.
"What we are suggesting is that the idea of sexual identity be separated from the problem of sexual abuse," said Margaret Smith of JohnJayCollege, in a speech to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. "At this point, we do not find a connection between homosexual identity and the increased likelihood of subsequent abuse from the data that we have right now."
The question has been raised repeatedly within and outside the church because the overwhelming majority of known victims were boys. As part of the church's response to the crisis, the Vatican ordered a review of all U.S. seminaries that, among other issues, looked for any "evidence of homosexuality" in the schools.
Yet, many experts on sex offenders reject any link between sexual orientation and committing abuse. Karen Terry, a John Jay researcher, said it was important to distinguish between sexual identity and behavior, and to look at who the offender had access to when seeking victims.

There is no relationship between the two. Pedophiles are overwhelmingly heterosexual.

Still, I really think very little of such organizations. A couple of days ago I read how the pope and his submissive inferiors (they like hierarchy in the church) are still fighting the use of condoms in Africa, despite the HIV epidemic. They are just out of touch with reality, they have their ancient morals and ideas, and are not flexible enough to adapt them to our modern times. They prefer millions of additional people being infected, maybe so they can send even more church-affiliated doctors and missionaries down there and present themselves as saviors when in fact they should be tried for manslaughter or murder.

Homosexuality is man on man or boy on boy acts.
The Catholic church has repeatedly switched these monsters to different churches. These guys are raping and pillaging the land. Killing the spirt of our children.
There is a somewhat cheesy movie from the 80's called "Heaven Help Us" that really does a great job of illustrating the Catholic school experience. From forcing students to hold Bibles in their palms level to their ears while kneeling to slapping students with rulers to having children swim naked (it should be noted this was not that uncommon even in public schools back in the day) you really get a feel about what the Catholic Church is all about. It all comes down to power.
My mother went to Catholic school until high school. In 3rd grade, she was locked in a small dark closet for about three hours. A nun threw a shoe at her face and nearly broke her nose. She was also repeatedly whacked on her left wrist with a ruler for the horrible crime of trying to write with her left hand. She now writes atrociously with her right hand as do I.
It's all about power and control.
