In response to some of the questions she was asked, specifically the ones about her comments that included references to ethnicity/backround, it seems to me that she did a lot of back pedalling and misdirection. She was asked a few of those questions again and/or told she didn't answer the actual question. What do you think?
My opinion means nothing. She is a wise Latina woman, and I'm a white male, so thy word be done.
Backpedaling? In Government? Perish the thought, sir/ma'am!
This is the absolute lowest point in this great nation's history. This is worse than the Great Depression and 9/11 combined. We no longer have valid or veritable leadership in Washington.
She's just another one of Obonehead's life-hating *******s. I bet the first thing she wants to do is solve the overcrowded prison problem by freeing half of the class one felons.
She hopped and skipper her way around important questions. Like Sanrene, I felt she was lying and hiding something with the way she answered many questions.
She refused to answer the question about her views on abortion. Some "wise Latina" we have here. Easy to make speeches touting her superior status as a Latina woman, but she damn sure couldn't muster the courage to make a stand on a view that has ramifications that affects us all. I despise a coward. If you believe something, say it. If you don't believe in it, say it. Cut the bull crap.

Very impressive responses on her part. She was quite right to disagree with Obama's claim that judges should go with what's in their hearts - emotion and feeling should play absolutely zero role in legal decision-making. She was also quite right to avoid answering questions on abstract policy issues like abortion. No reason for that to be an issue during these proceedings.
The questions by the Republicans were utterly stupid. Embarrassingly stupid, even. The best thing about these hearings is how they will put another nail in the coffin of the Republican party.
LMAO!!! No kidding. Can you imagine being in the same room with Pelosi, Boxer, Rodham-Clinton, Albright, Reno and now Sotomayor? I would test the fire exits ASAP....or at least make sure there is plenty of newspaper around...
