You abortion loving people that escaped the birth canal first time around are about to get the chance to self abort. You won't always be young. I know that now you think you will always be young, but,- you won't be. Go ahead and follow this little fascist do gooder. He'd love to have your come uppance as his legacy. I can see you all now whimpering in your room waiting for the scalpel that saved your grandathers or even your fathers life and gave them 20-30 more years of goodhealth and productivity. For you it will be a comfortable down pillow and some piped in music. Do you prefer reggae or hip hop Mr. Johnson?
No they will be the ones screaming the loudest about the injustice of it all and how it needs to be changed!

Better start building bigger jails.
They already have them and they are in every state. They are like concentration camps.

I think I have the answer to those consulters. When they call you in, fail to go and when they come to get you blow a hole in their torso with your shot gun. Then you will be arrested and since most left leaners are against capitol punishment hope for a life sentence. You will then get three squares a day, a nice clean place to sleep, weight machines and other workout machines, the best medical care available and can live your whole life out knowing you fought the socialist bastages.

Says who? Obama? He has told so many lies so far that this must be another of them. I don't believe it because his government public option would drive all the private companies out of business.

Do you really think it can pass with public option? I think that Obama gets his favorite part of the bill or he vetoes it.

Every time my elderly father went to the hospital even if it was only for tests he was asked about a living will and asked if he would like to talk to someone about it. So now people won't have to pay a lawyer it will be paid by insurance once every 5 years. Don't turn it into the health care plan wants elderly to die. Its about, dignity, pain, helping your family make decisions when you no longer can and how far you want your dr. to go to prolong your life. Gee sounds terrible to me.

So you're saying that Medicare -- the government program that currently provides life extending care to the elderly -- will be totally reversed by any changes in the health care deliever system and senior citizens will be denied any major medical services? Frankly, considering that my 89 year old uncle died because his doctor insisted on performing a totally unwarranted procedure for no other reason than Medicare would pay for it and my 87 year old aunt was subject an embarrassingly invasive, totally unwarranted procedure for no other reason than Medicare would pay for it, that might not be a bad thing. It would certainly help keep health care costs down.

This patient was very fit,and was the sole carer for her husband who had vascular dementia.
Our stroke physician gave her the treatment and she had an excellent result and was able to go home after 3 days.
We do look at the potential benefits versus cost of treatment and also consider things from an ethical perspective. We take into consideration the general health and disability level (prior to the new problem), whether someone will be able to adhere to medication/dietary/lifestyle modification regimes etc.Alao risk of anaesthetic and post treatment comlications due to underlying conditions eg heart failure, kidney disease etc.
When we do research there is always some form of economic evaluation involved and we look at the number of quality life years that could be gained by the treatment.
WOW! It amazes me that you find nothing wrong with treating people like machinery or tools.

Yes and Dick Morris said the same thing in so many words.
