Nationwide, there are about 42 million registered Democrats and about 31 million Republicans, according to statistics compiled by The Associated Press.

The Democrats have posted big gains in many competitive states, including Nevada, New Hampshire, Iowa, Colorado and Florida.

The decline in Republican Party affiliation among Americans in recent years is well documented, but a Gallup analysis now shows that this movement away from the GOP has occurred among nearly every major demographic subgroup.

So yeah, maybe so.

Did he campaign on a platform of instituting "socialized medicine"? Has he, or anyone in Congress, put forth a bill that creates "socialized medicine"? Since the answer to both of these questions is 'NO', that makes your question a straw man.

Oh, I don't know, maybe by how freaking STOOPID it sounds? The government is going to kill old people? Really? That doesn't sound ridiculously absurd to you?

Oh wait, nevermind. I forgot who I was responding to for a second.

"These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."

I'm sorry but politics aside, this is downright un-American and scary for that matter. This is something you would see in a comic book or a science fiction story in which government was behaving in a totalitarian manner.

This is disingenuous to say the least. They don't have to announce "We are instituting socialized medicine" for this to be true. Anyone with half a brain can see they are doing so. When you institute a governmnet sponsored option to compete with private insurance, it's not fair competition in the true sense since the govt has unlimited resources. Ultimately, this is going to lead to the demise of many Private Insurance companies and therebye provide increased leverage and power to the Govt. option which will ultimately lead to a single payer system. Sure there might be a few insurance companies but the majority of the public will rely on this Govt. option. When that occurs, the Govt. can then institute changes and attempt to save costs by denying care which they will do.

And yes, Obama did mislead the public. During his campain, he claimed he would expand health care by simply forcing employers to provide coverage or else pay a fine. There was never any mention of a Govt. sponsored option. He obviously left that out for a good reason knowing it was possible that many Americans voters would revolt. There is evidence to support this. In the Gallup polls, the Independent voters do not support these proposed health care reform measures. Those independent voters are the ones who helped Obama win the Presidency.

During the campaign I recall Obama telling us that we should be able to have the same insurance coverage that Congress has. I remember the applause and cheers he got for that. Yes, he did mislead the people.

Yes, I agree, people with only half a brain believe we are instituting socialized medicine.

Not fair? That's absurd. What's not fair is how the gigantic insurance and pharmaceutical industries have been raping the public for profits at the expense of human lives.

OMG, saving costs by denying care? I wonder if that's what happens right now?!?!

You obviously didn't do your own homework during the campaign. There was always a public option in the program he proposed.
Quote:
(2) NEW AFFORDABLE, ACCESSIBLE HEALTH INSURANCE OPTIONS. The Obama-Biden plan will create a National Health Insurance Exchange to help individuals purchase new affordable health care options if they are uninsured or want new health insurance. Through the Exchange, any American will have the opportunity to enroll in the new public plan or an approved private plan, and income-based sliding scale tax credits will be provided for people and families who need it. Insurers would have to issue every applicant a policy and charge fair and stable premiums that will not depend upon health status. The Exchange will require that all the plans offered are at least as generous as the new public plan and meet the same standards for quality and efficiency. Insurers would be required to justify an above-average premium increase to the Exchange. The Exchange would evaluate plans and make the differences among the plans, including cost of services, transparent.

. . .

(4) INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES. Preventive care only works if Americans take personal responsibility for their health and make the right decisions in their own lives – if they eat the right foods, stay active, and stop smoking. Barack Obama and Joe Biden will ensure that all Americans are empowered to monitor their health by ensuring coverage of essential clinical services in all federally supported health plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP and the new public plan.

LOL, people should flood the site reporting everybody they can. Report ten people a day. If everybody does it then it will crash or they will take it down. How stupid to put it up in the first place. Report all of congress & the president.

Whose stupid idea was this shades of nazis crap anyway? Turn in your fellow citizens boondoggle. Didn't Germany already go through this? Next thing you know they will tell the kids at school to turn in their parents---oh wait, they already do. Home schooling will get popular until it is banned by the state.

No, that is the job of liberals. Don't allow for difference of opinion, don't ask the othe3r side for input and attempt to shout down anything that you didn't script.
