White House's Call For Informants: If You Oppose Obamacare, Even in ‘Casual Conversation,’ the White House Wants to Know About It

From the White House website: The White House - Blog Post - Facts Are Stubborn Things

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov
They want to know who's behind all these lies.

you and the poster who put the other thread up about this both conveniently left off this paragraph:

"For the record, the President has consistently said that if you like your insurance plan, your doctor, or both, you will be able to keep them. He has even proposed eight consumer protections relating specifically to the health insurance industry."

That's right off the web site. I'm not a hysterical conspiracist but how else am I supposed to take this? Imagine getting an email from the White House demanding you stop spreading GOP propaganda?

You libs may not see it this way, but imagine if it was the Bush administration doing this...the NYT and WaPo would have large-point front-page headlines denouncing Big Brother in the White House and you folks would be screaming in the streets.

Obama does it and you nitwits JUSTIFY and excuse this crap. You're disgraceful.

You know assuming that I do have private insurance which my employer and I pay for as part of my benefits package.
Under Obama's plan or a future new administration plan I WILL get taxed to support those who don’t have insurance. There really is no way to support this program with just those who make over 250k and maybe in the beginning that will work be not over the next 10 years. It is just a matter of time and that is a fact. I will be paying more for my insurance and more in taxes to insure those who don’t have it. The cost to worker who has private insurance will go up and I can't assume the quality will be any better. How would we measure the quality and what government program or agency would be created to compare and actually use facts and static’s.
So what is to stop my employer from saying we can't afford healthcare anymore you will have to pay more or switch the government run healthcare. Are we going to write laws that will now set that private insurance is a right to those employed, that won’t happen unless it’s a union issue. So the employer stops offering coverage or new benefits to new workers and you are now left to keep paying into the government insurance program and most people will use it since they need coverage.
Which in the end is what I believe government wants and those who think like Obama.
They want to end private insurance not via force or laws but just by cause and effect. Employers will not offer it as a benefit if they DONT HAVE TOO and get the nation moving to national healthcare is in benefit of corporations and the government. Corporations increase there profits no healthcare costs and benefits programs and government grows bigger. Long-term that is the goal of every government program offered as temporary or optional solutions which turn into something more. Just like Medicare, and Social Security see what they were for originally and see what they do now. Socialism is nothing new people but those sneaky and who work on the plans know how to sell the biggest lies and how people only see the word FREE!

I'd understand, if they wanted to know who was behind a lot of lies that were taking hold. Unfortunately "libs" arent anywhere near as easily suckered as rightie sheep, plus the truth about Bushco was plenty enough, lies didnt need to be spread.

Look at it this way, if someone were spreading a rumor (or deliberately false statement) about YOU, wouldn't you want to know what's being said so that you could counter it? I know I would!
I think it is great that the present Administration wants to know what people are saying. It is a refreshing change from the Bush/Cheney bunch who were so out of touch with Americans.
