No the issue is that people DO know and they see how those programs are run and want no part of it.

Then if it is so terrible, why oh why are people flocking to the Republicans and pointing the fingers at Democrats as the sole source of the problem? Repulicans have been in power for 20 of the last 28 years and have never once decided to make anything "better" or change what is seen as so wrong?

The problem is the disconnection with leaders of political parties of both sides...anything that blames a straw man for what's going on based on lying propaganda by those who want to take advantage of the situation to gain political power or spread hate should be stopped dead in its tracks.

The OP congratulated the tea baggers for doing this. How is that when Congress has a majority of Democrats ? If insurers helped shape this healthcare bill, it sure wasn't due to the teabaggers.

Isn't Congress responsible for passing whatever bill comes up for a vote ?

So insurers and big pharma have made their deals in DC. I had thought as much because those two groups would have pulled out all the stops if this healthcare wasn't good for their business.

Now the deals are coming out in the open between Washington and the insurers and big pharma.

So, a question to those in favor of this bill...Do you still believe this bill is reform ?

Ummmmm NO republicans have not been in power for the past 20 years. Maybe the White House but not the House or Senate where laws are made.

I agree both sides suck but Medicaid and Medicare are fraud ridden bureaucracies that NEITHER side has done anything to stop. Hell I want to see health costs go down to but I do NOT want the government involved in it. I wish I could sign out of Medicare and SS, stop taxing me and I will take care of my health and retirement myself. I don't need the government.

Between 1980 and 1984, 1995 and 2007 for the most part Republicans controlled congress and the senate ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History...tates_Congress) effectively controlling everything from 2000 to 2007 with both houses and presidency. I am saying presidentially Reagen, Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. have been in control for 20 collective years as leaders...16 with control of the both senate and house of representatives. So they could have passed the reform people seem to fervently believe they had during any of those times. If so, why didn't they?

Fraud ridden, not really as much as incompetent...I work with these agencies on a daily basis. Usually they deny more often when they shouldn't then pay when they shouldn't, and they can get really nasty. I do wish those who don't want it could opt out myself, but honestly it would also mean they will never be able to take advantage of it...and many people change their minds once they need it.
