No way. I'd much rather stress out my senator/congressman and hang this healthcare noose around his neck!

I think this bill is going to be a great way to kick the losers who vote for it out of office.

Besides if it was up for a referendum, how can we trust the results with ACORN and Obama's SEIU thugs.

Do you think the power to make monetary policy includes that to delegate the immense day-to-day job of monetary policy to an agency established for that purpose?

Then you would certainly argue that the Authorization for Use of Military Force in Iraq was unconstitutional.

Govern by the will of the people? Let them have a voice in deciding what they want and don't want? In our form of democracy?

You must be kidding!

No.
I prefer the Congress pass a simple single payer system funded by a combination of business profits and progressive income tax. MY preference would eliminate the private health insurance industry and the excessive overhead created by their inefficiency and excess executive bonuses.

Health Care Reform was part of Obama's platform.
He was voted into office in November.
That was a referendum.

No, way.
1 It is unconstitutional.
2. Look at the giant mess California is in due to their proposition system, referendums on sticky issues are just ways for legislators to avoid doing their job and are, in general, a bad idea.

No. Many Americans are too backwards in their way of thinking. Everything would become an us v them vote meant to embarrass the President and would not be based on logic or reason, hallmarks of the legislative process.

Yes for once in our lives actually let us decide what we want instead of corrupt politicians making the choice for us.

I think if this thing passes in its present form, it will be the worst thing the Democrats in Congress could do for their political future. If they're smart, they'll vote it down.

Pretty much.

I'm definitely not against health care reform, because the current system is a failure, but that doesn't mean I'm going to jump on board for the first piece of legislation that purports to fix it.
