If you feel strongly about something you vote for those that you closely align yourself with.

If you believed in small government you would have voted for Ron Paul no if and or ..., so making up these long drawn out excuses as to why people did not vote for him is pointless. Ron Paul and small government would have been true change.
You're so angry that you missed the gist of my post. I'm not making excuses for those who opted for a primary party candidate over an independent. That was the thought process for many and that's what happened. I bet many of those same voters who were duped by Obama's undefined campaign promises, are beginning to or already have regretted their decision.

As a libertarian, I'm surprised you didn't vote for fellow Libertarian Bob Barr who received thesecond highest number of votes nationwide that a Libertarian Party presidential candidate has ever received. That's who i voted for.

BTW, I can't believe you blindly voted for that idiot Bush twice.

No Lazy T, It was not a blind vote. GW Jr ran on the same platform in 2000, that Ron Paul was abdicating in this past election.

He preached small government, states rights, individual rights, and no government intervention in the markets. Problem is he didn't stick to those issues in 2001 and with the passing of the Patriot Act he completely laid the ground work for a police state. However, i said in my original i was blindly consumed by the parties fear tactics on terrorism like most Americans.

The other issue was there was not a strong third party candidate like Ron Paul in 2004. John Kerry was certainly not going to receive my vote. I did not agree with him on many of the issues that are valid to me, so the second vote for Bush, was a you put it, i a vote for a primary candidate that comes very close to my ideologies. I'm not to hard on GW Jr, but i would never change my vote and i'm not unhappy i voted for him. I'm more disappointed with Congress, because they allowed him to do it. However, he did try to reform social security and it was a valiant effort, that congress and the American public did not allow.

I remember all the polls on here that various CD posters started up asking us to vote for the next president way back before November. Ron Paul won every single City Data poll. Ron Paul also won nearly every poll taken at malls, random phone calls etc etc. But few voted for him when it counted.

Just think.....If Ron Paul won we might today be pointing our fingers at the IRS while cursing them and telling them to go F themselves and they would be powerless to even answer us back.

But most people love to pay taxes and hate change of any kind so same ol same ol it is.......

Now 8 months later when they did not vote for the Candidate that was preaching small government they complain about the government expanding???

This is why these anti-Obama individuals will be exposed for who they truly are and it is shameful and a step in the wrong direction. If they were so passionate about small government why the f**K did they vote for John McCain and not Ron Paul???????????? I'm an agry libertarian who would have been happy to see Paul as president, so i cannot stand the lying that is coming from the neo-cons in reference to health care. They do not give two craps about small government or health care, they only care about stopping the president, which is stupid. It is ok to disagree, but to try by intimidation and force is pushing the line with me. I can tell you the republican party is alienating themselves and will be lucky if they are ever able to carry the youth vote or new immigrant vote. I do not have respect for either party in general, but the republicans are making themselves out to be the party of hate and I cannot condone such behavior no matter how much i hate far left socialist in the democratic party. Geez, they have no idea how shameful they look on tv at night yelling like a bunch of freaking inbreeds, it makes me sick, and the older people that are doing it just help validate the awful stereotype they are a bunch of uneducated racist. It is making me sick~!

I remember I wore a Ron Paul tee-shirt to the mall, i had a ton of people come up to me and say great shirt man! Then when i asked are you going to vote for him 90% of them said no, because i have to stick with one of the bigger two guys int he parties, he has no chance. I'm like well duh if you're going to continue to vote along party lines for the other two candidates, so my point is that people talk a good game, but when it comes time to put up, they are truly not interested in limiting the size of government.
Heres a news flash for ya, Ron Paul will never ever be the President of the United States, even if he were to somehow get the republican nomination he would never win the general unless the dems were to nominate someone like Dennis Kucinich, its just not going to happen. sorry!

People that come to message boards to bicker about politics are not like the average voter.

I really like Ron Paul on foreign policy, civil rights, crime, drugs, and tax reform. I i probably would not vote for him due to his stance on abortion, education, and health coverage

The "Water the Tree " guy says he voted for Paul in the Presidential Election, I thought Bob Barr was the Libertarian Candidate.
The "Water the Tree" guy didn't just happen to be there, he came all of the way from Arizona. Sounds more like a Dick Armey Astroturfer to me

The funny thing is he's probably unemployed and has no health insurance. I wished one of the media people asked him this question.

Special interest groups did a smear campaign against Ron Paul. I don't always agree with him, but I would have voted for him over the other two. I wish he would have gone independent.
