That doesn't 'describe' religion(s) at all. You are perhaps the kind of person that would use Israel's actions to describe why Judaism is 'bad'
I suppose the entire US military is rape-promoting, thieving, prisoner-abusing entity because of the incidents at Abu Ghraib?
How many religions have you studied?
(answer: none of them I bet)
Attack my ideas, an we will have a good debate. Attack me, and you denigrate your own intelligence.
That said, my thesis started with that biblical quote about "knowing them by their deeds [works, actions, outputs, results] So explain how Christians can claim that they are godly after seeing all the damage and pain they've created.
"1. Jesus owned nothing. 2. Jesus argued for the dissolution of the family and the establishment of communes. 3. Jesus loved all people regardless of ethnicity or class. 4. Jesus revolted against the imperial government, established religion and finance capitalism (usury). 5. Jesus taught that we should act as one body, one blood. 6. Jesus taught that his kingdom (ie nation state) is in the heart and not below the feet. 7. Jesus taught that we should fight for Justice and 'turn the other cheek' to petty morality. 8. Jesus was a laborer and a teacher. 9. Jesus practiced healing and forgiveness. 10. Jesus taught that you can't be an imperialist and a disciple at the same time."
Yeah, he would have really loved the rampant decay of social mores brought on by liberalism. I live in a Blue state, and I sure as sugarcookies don't see a whole lot of christian like behavior on the part of my neighbors.
For the record, modern christianity is an embarresment to the church in many ways, and I hate the high roller culture, but to think anything man does today Jesus would approve of is laughable. Was the Soviet Union god's utopia? Get real...
"Follow the rules or burn in everlasting hellfire." I heard that from Christians all my life. I got away from them for that reason. I have a few good Christian friends. They know better than to ever say that to me, even if they felt it to be true.

What is "Christian like behavior"? Is what the red state SC Governor did "Christian like". Were the wars started by our red state President "Christian like"? Would Jesus have approved/made excuses for torture?
"Give to Ceaser what is Ceaser's and give to God what is God's."
A declaration in support of the the separation of church and state if there ever was one. In a secular state, the government has the obligation to protect the rights of its citizens, in this particular instance, it is the right of a woman to choose whether to keep or terminate her pregnancy. Jesus might not have agreed with abortion morally, but he certainly did see the wisdom of the state protecting its citizens from coercion and force.
More than likely what Jesus would do if he were around today, would be to address the social and economic realities that places females in the position where they have to make such an unfortunate choice. Protesting abortion clinics, killing doctors and engaging in campaigns of fear would certainly not be the way that Jesus would address this issue, however analyzing the socio-economic environments and addressing the social realities that women face, and then mobilizing around the issues that would come out of such analyses, is definitely up his alley.
"Here is a boy with five small loaves of barley bread. He also has two small fish. But how far will that go in such a large crowd?" 10 Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down. The number of men among them was about 5,000. 11 Then Jesus took the loaves and gave thanks. He handed out the bread to those who were seated. He gave them as much as they wanted. And he did the same with the fish.
Perfect example of "redistribution of wealth". Or, is that an example of "entitlement"/"welfare". Jesus was a liberal!
