I think that people who try to "help" other people have exacerbated, if not outright caused, many of the problems we see in our nation today. Look at the large cities of this nation, the primary targets and "beneficiaries" of "progressive" or collectivist policy. The failure of some communities to adapt to society is a direct result of some "enlightened" people trying to "fix" problems by insulating those that they wanted to help from addressing the causes for their problems. This forever dooms the "beneficiaries" into repeating the same behavior that makes them "victims" in the first place. So I don't see it as a white or black issue at all. I see it as an elitist problem whereby some people are looked at as incapable of managing their own lives. These elitists perpetuate the problems by trying to fix outcomes instead of causes.
It sounds to me like you're talking about Government and its community social welfare programs. Pretty good description of Democrats in action.
Because the social pathologies of whites in American society are downplayed by the media, while the social pathologies of blacks are magnified or exacerbated.
For example: In a particular county, local newspaper continually reports on drug usage in predominately lower income black schools However, when end of year police drug usage and arrest statistics are released, the "good" wealthy schools have more drug busts and usage than the "bad" high school. And those kids are using even more "hard core" dangerous drugs.
Why? Because the media, realtors estate agents, and wealthy residents want it that way. It Keeps the property values up.

That may be true. However, I don't think the drug use in the white suburbs is accompanied by the violence, poverty, illegitimacy, high school drop out rate, etc the way it is in the black community. So if you're trying to convince me that the white suburbs are just as bad as the black inner city neighborhoods you have failed.

I totally disagree with this as a real estate agent. Many a client has asked me about problems with the wealthy school districts in our area. I always tell them one of the main problems is drugs.
Wealthy kids in many cases have too much money & time to waste. They are able to purchase drugs much easier then kids who must get a part time job or lack the funds. Many people don't want their kids exposed to so much excess.
On a daily baisis, Black Americans (as a group overall) in the U.S.; unlike any other minority group, must deal with negative press coverage, fingerpointing and criticism from (many, but not all ) White Americans about the many social problems affecting black communities, particularly within the inner-cities; such as high:
- Un-employment rates
- Murder statistics
- Drug abuse and distribution
- Poorly performing schools and high drop-out rates
- AIDS
- Teen pregnancy and single parenting
- Black male incarceration
- Overly aggressive police and police brutality
Certainly, Black communities has its share of problems. But, does White America (as a group) have any similiar type of social problems or are white people free from social problems in U.S. society?
Us white folk just can't catch a break in America. I want my country back. I want another tea party!
