More troops are needed. They are needed NOW.

Obamas lack of leadership is costing lives.
Where was your criticism of the leadership that kept us there in a stalemate from 2001 through 2008?

Bush and Cheney dawdled for seven years, and that's no big deal. You don't even mention it. Obama has nine months and you're ready to pop a vein. Relax and take a deep breath.

Prosecution of the war IMMEDIATELY fell into Obama's lap the day of the Inauguration. Bush became totally and completely irrelevant that day.

Obama has NOT been a good CIC

No because Cheyneys Buddy Karzai runs a Drug Cartel pretending to be a government and a foriegn militia pretending to be an army. They have to be dealt with before there can be a coherent strategy

You are so wrong

We are talking about warfare.

Obama did not meet with HIS commander for MONTHS after taking office. That was wrong.

Very amusing how all you rightwingers have suddenly become military experts. Of course, you've had great coaching in military science.

With more Americans dying for no reason in Afghanistan
I wouldn't exactly call this for no reason. Pretty shallow minded thread.

Secondly, though this war started when Republicans were in power, Democrats have both the Congress and the white house and so have the power to pull all troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq. They also have the power to impliment plans of operation to win the war. Instead, they choose to do nothing while our troops are getting killed in combat. I should correct myself. Obama isn't doing nothing. He's playing golf while troops die. Sort of like the old tale of Nero fiddles while Rome burns.
Sounds like the Vietnam war all over again, or the Korean war, or desert storm, same old tired crap about who's gonna stop the war. Truth be told, we've learned a lot since the 60's. For one thing most folk's have figured out by now that both parties are really one entity called "the business party" of which every president since dear old George Washington has belonged to.

It's a good ploy, having the two parties, it provides an outlet for those CD guy's to vent, and heaven help those in power when these guy's finally figure this out.

Today we had the absolute pleasure and privilege of spending Halloween with some 400 Marines and their families at Camp Pendleton, CA. Many / Most of these Marines have been deployed (many multiple times) or will be deployed (some within weeks).

During these "events" the discussion turned to (as often does) to the trust and respect the troops have for the Commander in Chief. And, I must tell you, in all honesty the respect these Marines have for the current CIC is VERY, VERY low.

It should not be that way.

Stalling what? We didn't kick the Taliban out in the first place. They fought it differently using only the CIA and then a limited amount of special forces (a thousand or two), to train and work with the tribal lords who did all the fighting. Going in as an amry and occupying it, has never worked in Afghan's history. We increased troops after they booted out the Taliban to secure some areas and allow for the new government to organize itself. It's only recently that we've had to send in more troops (Obama did that....that's what he did when he initially took office).....that's what he campaigned on, that Osama and the war was in Afghan. We lost more soldiers there this month than in any one month since it started.
