I'm sure there is a tendency once they land in prison to pretend they were attending church every Sunday and faithfully reading the Bible and praying the rosary, but it's very unlikely most prisoners were doing much practicing of religion at all (except maybe Islam). Church attendance is quite low among most people -- it's doubtful that it's higher among those out murdering and raping.

There was a lot more violence by Christians in the Netherlands than Muslims.

Right.

So how many anti-muslim documentaries have been made since Van Gough was shot, decapitated and his torso left with a muslim screed against defilers of Islam pinned to his chest by two knives?

That's not terrorism?

Also most of these examples are over 500 years old. Muslims are killing people for their faith NOW. TODAY. Not in the past.

So unless you have an irrational fear that you are going to bump into one of the knights of the crusdae in a dark alley who will run you through with his broadswaord, I'd say the average westerners has alot more to fear from the current adherents of Islam then Christianity.
As far as the Crusades, those took place when Europe began to rid itself of Islam, keeping Europe free, the Conquistadors where when Spaniards learned to fight fire with fire so they could finally overthrow Muslim rule -- after 700 years. Also as far as the Conquistadors, after 700 years under Muslims, the Spaniards picked up a few of their traits -- Conquistadors were modeling themselves after Islam, very much influenced by their 700 years of Muslim rule.

It's just a mistake, probably due to lack of experience.

The number one rule after a national-level tragedy is to express sympathy for the victims right away when you first open your mouth to the public. No pleasantry. Just start with it.

He didn't do that, and someone called him on it. No big deal. He'll learn.

It's also a catch 22, becuase if you do it too much (Clinton) or take some time to get your plan together before you speak to the public (Bush) you'll get heat, and your opponents will use it against you.

@ PugLife

What you fail to realize is that a person can identify themselves as being a Christian and still not practice Christianity.

Obviously if they're in a jail because of criminal activity they're not Christians.

I don't think there are many devout Christians in prison.

They're Christians by definition not by practice.

IDK about that one now...the mere fact that they are in jail just means that they have sinned, or havent rendered unto Ceasar that which is Ceasar's so to speak. All people are sinners are according to Christianity. And some people get caught or are targeted for sinning.

Will a White/Latino male do? If so, then your wish has been granted.

It always boils down to money. And 200 years from now, people will see the current tensions as a struggle over resources, ie, money, as well. I don't have any irrational fear, I'd just say that the average PERSON has good reason to fear extremists, no matter what their beliefs.
