On Saturday before the vote on the health care bill Obama met with the entire Dem Caucus in the House to urge them to support the pending health care bill. In his remarks to the legislators he called those opposed to the bill "teabag, anti-government" types. So he de-legtitimized almost 50% of the House of Representatives and (by some polling) more than 50% of the American people. Apart from the implied obscenity and the callous arrogance of this man one has to wonder about his political acumen. Does he honestly think that the American people will ignore his slur in the next elections?
Funny, most of those "anti-government" people voted Bush into office, twice. Seems those ones have a problem looking beyond the (R) to see how pro-government Bush actually was. Sheeps, voting against your interests.
Now, over 50% of the American people are teabaggers? "by some polls" ya I get it.
Obama tried to work with everyone, but since the repubs only wanted to naysay everything (since it's not for their lobbyist interests), he realized they could not be worked with and that their only objective is to be as big a hurdle as possible. The opposition party, for the status quo.
you must like him then secretly.really if sonservatives didnt really like bush as people try to say but kept quietly for the sake of the party. you are exploring your love for obama
Conservatives weren't quite about Bush. Neocons were the ones that liked Bush.
Conservatives couldn't help it if they didn't get much press coverage.

Obama has not tried to work with Republicans. My local congressman repeatedly attemtted to meet with the President to go over sickcare legislation with him line by line. Just like Obama said he would.
The president's office has never got back with him.
