Ok...I admit I was being little facitious about the three-mugger story (although I do recall something similar you once wrote).

BUT...it was easy to do as, again, each time this subject comes up, you have some story about how many times you have wiped out some assailant(s) with your bare hands. And maybe the dog incidents WERE different times...but easy to confuse them since being twice attacked by large vicious canines, and strangling them to death on each occasion, is something which most of us who lead less-exciting lives, don't experience.

Anyway, if you are capable of all the feats of marvel-comics you claim, then you are right, no need to own a gun. That is your choice. Main thing is, the right to protect yourself is highly personal and not subject to utilitarian logic, nor anybody's else's claims or subjective opinion as to the means to do so.

*sighs* Go back and read to get the full context and intent. It wasn't -- I can promise you -- because I am impressed in the least with your claims. As I said, truly tough guys don't talk about their feats...especially on line...as internet warriors are a dime a dozen (although yes, for sure, I respect your military service).

I am not interested in your fights (we have all had our own and who gives a damn?). That is not the import of this thread. My point is that (agreeing in a strange way), that when accosted by strangers, then it is not going to be fair if one is truly out to do you harm. Best to have the means to protect oneself against all possibilities. If one can do it sans a weapon, great. If not, then to repeat the adage, better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I don't know how you intended this....but it is true. And is why I am in favor of allowing administrators and/or teachers, who have a CCL, be allowed to have the said right on school campuses in the worst case scenario. Could save a lot of lives...!

The "gun free " zones are another interconnected interesting subject.
There should be no GF zones, only "high security " areas, where qualified CCL holders could enter.
A qualification would be to have a CCL for x years, say 2-3,with a clean record...

Guns creep me out so I would never carry one but I did think about it after I got mugged a few months ago.

Would you allow a dog to bite you and let it live to bite again? Or kill it immediately? I did the rational thing, and killed the aggressor. You can't reason with animals.

I carry a firearm because I can't carry a cop.

If someday, someone decides I should guest star in a '3 guys 1 hammer' video, me and my Kahr pm9 fully intend to contest that decision.
