You left out Ronald Reagan - after 1 year in office (1981) His approval rating was 49%. George W. Bush may have ended his first year with a bang, but left with a 27% percent approval rating (I often wondered how he even got that)
What was going on at this point in Dubya's tenure? Oh yeah, 9/11. Might have a bit to do with his 86% rating.
For a President that inherited two seemingly unending and unpopular wars and the worst economy since the Great Depression, started under the watch of the President with the lowest approval rating of any President ever (including Nixon at the time of his impeachment!), a 47% approval rating is not bad.
These polls this early in a President's tenure mean next to nothing. Clinton was reelected while two Presidents with higher approval ratings (Bush I & Carter) didn't.
After 1,5 yrs in office Obama wins award for lowest approval rate EVER!!!

Wow Obama got another accomplishment!
Hey, bee...
Obama hasn't been in office for 11 months yet. Just FYI.
My bet, he'll leave office with MUCH higher approval than Bush did.
