I'm so sick of this behind-closed-doors cr*p that is going on in Senate deliberations this past weekend and this week.

Transparency huh? What was up with Obama's visit on Sunday to speak with (or more likely twist arms of) the Senators.....and blocking the Repubs out? Is that called Socialistic/communist-oriented transparency? Yeah, that'd be more appropriate considering this potus.

They are making deals in there just to get what they want. And couldn't give a hoot about what the majority of Americans want.....how sick.

I think Gallup does a very good job generally with it's polling, and I think that Obama shouldn't dismiss the polls out of hand. But Obama isn't that far down from other Presidents who entered into office during troubled economic times.

It's also worth noting that Gallup and numerous other polling organizations have a serious problem that is making their polling results less reliable. A growing proportion of the population is abandoning traditional phone lines in favor of cell phones and computer phone technology. Predictably, it is the younger and more liberal segment of the population following this trend. Which means traditional polling techniques which use land-line phones are garnering skewed results, because their sample pool is shrinking and becoming more conservative.

I'm not faulting Gallup or any of the other polling organizations, but I think they do need to expand their error margins in light of this social/cultural trend.

LULZ 47% APPROVAL RATING...WOW THATS SOOOO LOW!

Really, the republican party is trying SO hard to spin every bit of negative Obama data that they are not only looking silly, they are starting to annoy people.

47% is NOT a terrible AR. Especially when you consider there is a 3% margin of error. Roughly, half the country still supports him...which is not much different than the 64% of Americans that voted him in.

Good thing he'll still be President for at least another three years then, huh?

Carry on, suckers.

RealClearPolitics - Election Other - President Obama Job Approval

New Marist Poll.

12/8: Obama’s Hope to Unite Falls Short : Home of the Marist Poll: Pebbles and Pundits

Quote:
Registered voters nationally are divided about President Barack Obama’s job approval rating. 46% approve of his job performance while 44% disapprove. One in ten voters is unsure.

This is the first time the president has lost majority support on this question since taking office. When Marist last asked this question in October, 53% of voters gave the president high marks.

That proves nothing but that Fox News has found something to spin again. So what, people base their opionions on what is going on in their lives. Based on the current state of the economy (not Obama's fault) and unemployment rate, this is not surprising but there have certainly been much lower approval ratings and some of those presidents were re-elected. If people read further than the Fox News headlines, they would know this is nothing but another Fox News spin.

Gallup has the president back up at 50% today, though I guess that means that Gallup is now not to be trusted again.
