Rush Limbaugh doesn’t see why you should donate to the Haiti earthquake relief effort. “We’ve already donated to Haiti!” he declared. “It’s called the US income tax!” He then goes on to point out that lots of churches and other groups are already trying to help.

As individuals we should help nothing, we should just submit to our religious/governmental/corporate overlords.

Shockingly Rush is still an idiot.

Well, he's entitled to his opinion... and so are you. Do what your own conscience dictates.

Besides, even if the people did get the money, that would just stop them from bothering to support themselves. “It’s a simple matter of self-reliance.”

Maybe Limbaugh doesn't realize that in order to have "self-reliance", you have to have some semblance of a civilized society to begin with. You won't find that in Haiti at this time (and it really never existed in the past either).

There's a lot of fraud that one has to be careful of who they're giving $ to, that's for sure. Corruption is not new here.

Unless you are physically there to assist (like the warships and Marines and other relief workers), it is very hard to say how far the extra $ will go to make a difference. I'm just trying to be realistic here.

Aren't we already helping with Obama's $100 milliion pledge?

Besides, Haiti does not need more $. It needs a takeover. The land needs new soil. Everything from the top to the literal grassroots of the natural environment needs to be changed. Otherwise it is permanently poor, permanently dependent.

That article is not the truth. Rush never said not to donate to the Haiti relief effort. Just go here and read the correct information:

What a great example of "compassionate conservative:" "Just let them die. Who cares? I need all my money for drugs and illegal Cuban cigars!" Typical. If President Obama ignored Haiti, Rush would be calling him a man who hates his own race. Pretty easy job to just sit on your fat tush and make truly dumb attacks like this. They have 2 baby cheetahs at Mesker Zoo in Evansville, IN. The world would be a better place if Rush returned to regional "reporting" and left the running of the country to people with souls and logical minds.
