I can just imagine a corrupt Haitian politician living it up on the money sent to help destitute people now. You have been warned. Send your money to a reputable charity, don't depend on government to solve the issue. Remember Katrina and all the thieves there. At least try to send your money where it will help those in need, not let thieves take it.
Uh dude I have a RUSH 24/7 membership and get all the shows everyday and listen to them as well. I don't need them filtered through that idiot on the youtube video.
I don't know what Rush said, but I will not send a dime to Haiti unless I know it's going directly to the rescue workers and not to the Haitian gov't.
Even the "first black president", Bill Clinton, who was oh so much more compassionate than any conservative could possibly be, poured money into Haiti to no avail. We've sent them millions of dollars for years and it's done absolutely nothing for those poor people who had the misfortune of being born in the wrong place.
No one said Rush published anything, the charge was that he called Obama a "Negro", which he did. Chris Rock uses the n word all the time, and comedian Kat Williams called Obama the n word. Why don't you call Obama the n word in public and say that others have used the word, so it's ok, lets see if it flies. So Reid using a racist phrase cancells Rush Limbaugh's statement? WTF. One has nothing to do with the other.
Rush uses the word "negro" in reference to what Reid said about Obama. Rush had been talking about Reid's comments for two or three days last week.
Well, according to him if you give them one red cent of money from the government it's socialism.
Better they die of starvation, disease, and exposure then have money from another persons pocket.
It's the only compassion he knows, and why everyone in the world loves him.
1. Rush didn't say such thing.
2. There isn't such thing as "government money." It's "the people's money," specifically the tax payer's the government takes it from. Since tax payers are already giving money to the government in the form of taxes, why should the people donate more to the government all over again?
3. He said to give the money to the Red Cross, or the charitable organizations that are already there (in Haiti), not to the government.
4. Rush collects over $1million each year for cancer research, and matches the largest individual donation by his callers that day. A lady caller donated over $200,000, and he matched that sum with his own money.
The move by George W Bush to specifically call on individuals to send money to Haiti directly through the website, Clinton Bush Haiti Fund**|**Home, serves as a rebuke to conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh's calls for Americans to refuse offering donations to the people of Haiti. On his radio show, Limbaugh discouraged his listeners to send funds stating: “we've already donated to Haiti. It’s called the U.S. income tax.” During an announcement outside of the White House with Obama and Clinton, Bush stated: "the most effective way for Americans to help the people of Haiti is to contribute money ... I know a lot of people want to send blankets or water. Just send your cash," he said. "One of the things President Clinton and I will make sure is your money is spent wisely." It's a wonder that anyone could be as uncompassionate as Limbaugh, especially watching the news coming out of Haiti over the past few days. Hopefully his arrogance and callousness on this issue will serve to alienate him from more of the public and offend even his most devoted listeners, finally pushing him out of the US media landscape
