I listen to you lefties go on about how Republicans and Conservatives are homophobes. But it is very far from the truth. If we were anti-gay, we would have rallied and cheered this guy on. We didn't. The CPAC crowd booed gay basher Ryan Sorba for bashing GOP GoProud group right.
Saying that conservatives are homophobes is like saying that liberals have no problem with third-trimester abortions. It's too bad that people classify those who are different with such broad generalizations. We're all unique, regardless of how we vote or what labels we use for ourselves and others.
I don't think ALL Conservatives are anti-gay but the Conservative movement is largely full of Conservative Evangelical Christians who are not very fond of gays.
I also heard there were a lot of young people at the CPAC meeting. A lot of younger Conservatives are more open to gay rights than say the over 35-40 crowd.
Also, not all liberals are fans of gay rights but most of them are for them.
Gay votes count too. By promoting racism, sexism or any type of discrmination, they lose votes. Saying that all Conservatives are homophobes is silly but the people who are quoting scriptures and talking about what an abomination it is are more likely to be social Conservatives than liberal but I'm sure even those people wouldn't have a problem counting the gay vote if it gets a Conservative into office.
The made up word homophobe, by the gay community, implies a fear of gays which would be the very rare person. People do not fear gays, they do not agree with the homosexual lifestyle. I do not recognize made up words.
Nope. She refused to talk to her sister because she voted for Obama. She might go Joe Stack if one of her kids is gay.
