NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- When you think of low-paying jobs, doctor doesn't usually come to mind.
But with a 21% cut in Medicare payments slated to take effect later this month, physicians who say they are making an OK living may be reduced to income levels that no longer make their profession viable.
Docs have been complaining about " we got no money" ever since I can remember. But just look at the homes they own, the cars they drive etc... They are "rich people broke", not "average American broke".
According to the American Medical Association the average income for a medical doctor is about $200,000. The actual number depends on specialty, years in practice, etc..

Even the worst Doctor in the UK makes more than that. Perhaps they need to start thinking about a National Health care system
I talked to my podiatrist a while back about this, and he said the good times are over, with insurance companies and Medicare dictating what they'll pay for and taking forever to pay even that.
