Some people actually believe that health care is something that all Americans should have access to. Really. Some people just actually care for their fellow human beings, without having anything to gain.

Crazy! I know!

To address your edit of the last post, to know I'm close to tax increase, family income approaching $250k.
Look its not that people dont care about the less fortunate that cant get access to health care, its the gov't they dont give a damn about you or anyone else, but themselves. There is a lot more to this health care bill than what meets the eye. So you just be happy that this health care bill passed. If you and others think that this health care bill is good then good for you all. As for people being brainwashed I dont know who the hell they are brainwashed by, maybe its politicians, someone they know, something they read. I dont know and I dont care. I just know this bill is not good news. So you just be happy about the bill being passed.

There are several provisions in this bill that open up access to tons of people who did not previously have access to health care. Upping the age of college students on parents plans, providing tax credits to lower income families, to name a few.

Someone help me out here....and I mean this as an honest question. How does one reconcile "let people buy across state lines" with the current conservative mantra of "states' rights"? Don't states have the right to regulate/restrict business within its borders?

And can anyone show evidence where "tort reform" has been tried and resulted in the lowering of health care costs? The data I've seen doesn't show any real statistical difference between pre- and post- reform. I'd be interested in seeing any evidence to the contrary.

Pathetic amount to get "yes" to, isn't it? Worse when they went to reconciliation as the Senate has to fear they won't get the 60 votes.....I am waiting for the ripoffs to come, taxes and more and being old enough to never see anything out of this except the destruction of Medicare.........we have insurance and plan to keep it, only I really think that within 10 years or less (unless there is a big change in the Congress), we will have UHC (Living by Canada, I know that isn't "pretty" to many friends across the border who come here after buying their own insurance for cardiologists, neuros, oncologists and other specialists)

We all better hope genius mathematicians and statisticians get to do the real number crunching now it is going to the president.

I, for one, am proud to be American today.

And I'm sure the 35 million American brothers and sisters who cannot afford health insurance or are rejected by those greedy corporations due to pre-existing conditions are happy, too.

And as for the Tea Baggers who made the most OUTRAGEOUS claims ... and this is not joking btw,

"Jews are stealing health care!"

"N**gers can't afford health care, so they steal it!"

"We're becoming Nazi Germany!"

All I have to say to those poor bastards is:

"Sorry. but the vast majority of the nation doesn't agree with you. You can go to hell."
