I know plenty of doctors who retired early because they were sick and tired of insurance companies telling them what, or what not, they could do. This was especially true when the trend became "HMOs".
The OB I had 16 years ago did just that. He used to keep a Dominos Pizza job application thumb tacked to the wall at the front desk, saying he would rather work for them than deal with insurance companies. About ten years later, he changed careers.

Did he become a pizza deliverer instead of a baby deliverer?
I don't know if the doctor is lying, maybe he is using this as an excuse, only he knows. Isn't it age discrimination to suggest that an 80 year old can't work anymore. The guy doesn't look a day over 75, reminds me of Jack Lalanne.
Jack Lalanne is nearly 100! This gets better and better. Your 75 year old anti-government doctor who's retiring due to health care reform reminds you of a 100 year old man! OMG. This is hysterical.
The House votes were mainly along party lines,
[a] on moving the Senate-passed bill to the President, on a GOP procedural motion regarding an agreement on federal funds for abortions, and [c] on passage of a package of fixes to send to the Senate for final action.
[b]Organizations joining the AANA in supporting the final bill include the American Hospital Association (AHA), American Medical Association (AMA), American Nurses Association (ANA), and the Federation of American Hospitals (FAH). Opponents included the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) which cited the AANA-backed provider nondiscrimination provisions as a justification for its opposition, the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), and several surgical specialty organizations.
Not sure what your point is...other than to prove that these associations were "bought" off one at a time. Don't deny it. It happened. No need to try to defend it.
I heard they're all leaving the profession to become teachers, less govt intrusion.
