I didn't believe it when the baggers warned us that this would happen, but apparently our family physician is one of the providers who will leave stop practicing health care because of this bill. This sucks, this guy has been treating our family for generations.

So, I'd retire, too, if I had been at the same profession for 40 years.

Interesting how fast news travels. Within 24 hours your doctor made the decision to quit his profession of 40 years, and already got word to you. Impressive.

47 years actually, but you choose to. He is leaving because of this bill.

LMAO...... really...... he is giving up his career after only 40+ years? Give me a break, he must be about 70!

What, he was planning on going another 40 years? Figuring his age at college graduation and then all the other years he'd had to put in to even begin his own practice, just how old is he, anyway? I'm pretty sure this is just an excuse. He needed an "out"...I don't blame him after a full-length career.

A few years back his practice threw him a big 70th party, that was in 2000.

Sounds like he is an old man that should have retired generations ago!

For the naysayers, two very close nurse friends of mine said it was a bummed out atmosphere today at the hospitals they work. Anecdotal? Sure...but you'd be fooling yourselves if you think the "people" won yesterday. These health professionals know better than Congress and the President. Too bad their "associations" were bought off.

How old is he? 70s. A doctor can no longer purchase malpractice insurance after the age of 70.
