Yes, they're exempt as usual.

They have a big advantage, they are given all the services but are not expected to pay anything for them. They get out of paying social security and can drive without licenses and insurance.

Maybe the trick is to have a black market on identifications and social security numbers for everyone else who wants to get out of all these taxes.

In 3 - 5 years there won't be any insurance companies.

So, the Democrats all meekly going along with not having a public option and letting you keep your private insurance is a ruse because they know and I know and you know the insurance industry will collapse and standing there will be Obama and Pelosi (Reid will out of office, whittling wood choo-choo trains), and their ilk, smiling and holding out their big federal government hand to lift you from your woe, save you and draw you to the bosom of totalitarian federal government run single payer insurance. And we will all go meekly because we will have no other choice when it comes to health.

They'll tell you what you can eat, drink, smoke and do AND you'll pay through the nose for it in the form of taxes while your healthcare is turned over to an ineffective/inefficienct over-bloated federal government who will make surgery/illness and life-threatening decisions for you, instead of you and your doctor. Afraid of being shut out from your new entitlement, you'll vote democrat, and so will the newly hired employees in the big new bloated federal government health administration because they'll want to keep their jobs.

Right now your concern is buying private insuranceand paying some tax to get a tan. I say, "Ha" - you ain't seen nothin' yet.

Second I really doubt it is enforceable paractically but they may fine you;you don't pay and they look to collect depending how the law is written. Practically it would be hard to enforce really. Obama said that himself in the debates with Hillary;impossible to enforce. They are going to be tying up alot of federal court time if they do because you have a right to appeal anything that they fine you for.If they think enforcing filing income tax that is nopt compared to this.
So if they aren't going to enforce it except with some special fine, and they can't make you pay the fine, then if you choose not to have insurance, you'll be treated the same as always, and the government will give you a fine to pay but if you choose to ignore the fine, you're okay?

Insurance companies, all of them, now ARE the public option because they will be beholden to the govt who will determine what they will offer, at what price, and what the govt will and won't cover. You got your public option, ala trojan horse.

The first person that is actually confronted with a fine, and states they are to poor to pay it, will launch a new government program. Liberals in Congress (if they still have a job) will create a "fine rebate program" and checks will be issued to reimburse the "disadvantaged". It will be claimed that the Constitution grants them the inalienable "right" not to pay fines for the "right" to health care.

Of course, everyone making over $250,000/yr will be mandated to "share the wealth".

They expect the consumer to yell "how high" and they'll impose HUGE premium increases while Americans will beg DC to bring on UHC. The "fun" is only starting.

You don't have to pay income tax. You only pay income tax if you work in this country. That's a choice. If you move into a cabin in the woods and live off the land, you won't pay income tax.

Mandatory health insurance is a life tax. You are being forced to purchase goods and services from the Federal Gov't simply because you are breathing, which is unconstitutional.
well, not exactly. Obama and company, no matter how you feel about them are not stupid. They planned this. It will be administered by the IRS a Federal Agency, therefore constitutional under intra-state commerce laws. Sad as hell to be this devious I think.

I thought that's what the carbon tax was all about. The less people eating, farting, breathing and crapping, the happier the earth is. Let the genocide begin.

Australia has had UHC for a while now. None of these things happen.

We still have private health insurance. If we don't have private health insurance you can use the public system.

The govt does not tell us what to eat, drink, smoking still rampant.

The govt does not make any decision on individual health matters. If anything, the Australian govt has a more holistic approach to health including: UHC, PBS scheme (expensive perscription medicine subsided by the govt), 30% rebate for those who do have private health insurance.

nice scare-mongering story telling though.
